Hi, I am trying to do a talent build for a hunter for battlefield instances.
Is Wyvern Sting useful there? I have never tried it, but it sounds good in theory. Would it stack with Serpent Sting (assuming I use Serpent first)? If not, would Serpent do dmg for the 12 secs while they are sleeping?
I want to mostly use the ranged weapon, but I want to be able to slow them via melee with substantial damage and get away to shooting range. Anyway, I like to use Raptor Strike + Wing Clip when I must melee and run away. I also use use Freezing/Frost traps to slow enemies at times. Assuming Wyvern is useful, here is what I have come up with:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?0000000000000000000000550051055010000000000323532400300300501000
I started with the Hawk Eye, Savage Strikes, Imp Wing Clip, Lethal Shots, Imp Hunter's Mark (for myself and melee teammates), Aimed Shot (I think this one is useful at lower level BGs), 1 Entrapment for the lvl 29 BGs. I am definitely pretty satisfied with this for 29 (that's where I am now). Then I will spend some time at 39, so I am thinking 2 more Entrapment, 2 Clever Traps, 3 Deflection, 3 Surefooted--no real logic here, just building up to Wyvern. Then for 49, probably 4 Imp Arcane Shot, 4 Mortal Shot, 2 more Deflection (impossible to get Wyvern at 49 with Aimed Shot anyway). For 59 I can get Wyvern, so I am thinking 3 Killer Instinct, 1 Survivalist, 5 Lightning Reflexes, and 1 Wyvern. After that, I really had no idea where would be best and just stuck 1 in Imp Arcane, 1 Mortal Shots, 5 Improved Stings, 3 more Survivalist for lvl 70.
Any advice on how I might improve this? I have not been above 29 on a Hunter and I am happy with the build up to there, so most of the build above 29 is just conjecture. Any help would be appreciated.
