I remember the good old DOS days especially in Win95 where you had to boot a special way to free up more RAM so you can play your favorite games.

Oh geez... I remember my dad showing me everything about DOS (I was probably between the ages of 4-9, he's a computer techie). The good ol' days...

*reminisces*

Whatever you do just don't use deltree freely, thinking about it now I honestly think I spent more time in DOS than I did for Win95 during that time.

I work for Apple and am a professional photographer.

In fact, my last project was testing Aperture 2 from alpha to release. icon

That I have a job where I make over $100k a year and am only 23 says something about how hard I work.

I drive an Audi A6, I have my own apartment, and I have a computer setup that makes most people jealous. (Brand new Mac Pro 8-core 3.0 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 8800 GT, 4x 500 GB HDDs, 23" cinema display, etc.)

Here's a web gallery with two pics: one of my car, one of the setup I'm running, though it was taken last year. Same setup I'm using now, only there's another Apple 23" cinema display on the other side of the Macbook (I use the Macbook when I travel), and there'd be an iPhone in front of the computers instead of that Chocolate.

So yeah, go ahead and shut the hell up now. icon

When I say Vista is crap, that's coming from a professional that could use Vista, but doesn't. I dual-boot to XP when I need Windows (which I nearly never do).

Edit: Eliff, I've run Vista on the above system. It still sucks. Any ideas? I paid just under $5000 for my computer (not including my display) and Vista is still awful. I'd think that my hardware is "new enough" for your taste, considering it's not even a month old.

So you work for Apple. BFD. $100K for a salary in Cupertino or wherever you are isn't even considered middle class. Being a photographer/tester for Apple doesn't make you professional at anything. It only explains to me why Aperature is such a big piece of sh*t and is light years behind Adobe's Lightroom.

So you're 23? My 13 year old son is vastly more mature than you.

I agree with villain. Go get laid or something. You've been a serious asshat the entire 2 years I've been lurking on these forums. You'd think that someone your age would figure out that being a complete asshat is not how to get ahead in life.

Stop running Windows on Bootcamp. That's your problem. It's a widely known fact that Apple's Vista drivers suck ***. I know from personal experience. I bought a Macbook pro (with Aperature btw) for my wife's birthday. XP runs fine under bootcamp, but Vista has way too many problems. All driver related. Don't beleive me? Look at the bootcamp support forums at apple.com. Hell, Apple has had 2 years to get the trackpad driver working correctly and they can't even do that. The Bootcamp Nvidea driver has known issues with Wow. We're going on six months (since the last Apple firmaware update for the MBP) and they STILL haven't resolved it.

Go buy a real gaming machine like a Dell XPS or an Alienware, and stop trying to run windows on an Apple.

You're a moron, for the reasons Element stated. Vista has the highest benchmarks on an Mac Pro (/gasp, what I'm using!) running it on Boot Camp.

$100k is much better than what most people in my generation are making, especially considering I don't have a college education finished.

I really don't care about my maturity. I have a group of friends that I like hanging out with, a stable job, and I do work that I'm extremely passionate about and get paid a lot to do it ($100k is a pretty decent salary up here in Seattle).

Oh, and did I mention that I'm very well aware that I'm immature?

Final word on the matter, I bought a laptop with vista, upgraded it to 3gigs of ram and put in a 160gig SETA hardrive, has an Nvidia graphics card with the works. First thing i noticed was....it blows. Second thing I noticed was that whenever i tried to play Starcraft the whole system crashed. This was starcraft...lol. Switched it to XP and now im playing Call of Duty 4 while jamming to Hatebreed and downloading a movie.

In other words Vista = worst operating system EVER! There is no debate over this. You Have lost the right to speak for the rest of the day.

Edit for Typos
