rate ups?Follow

#1 Feb 10 2008 at 11:27 PM Rating: Default
So um, I thought I have given useful practical knowledge over all my posts.

What I post is from experience in game, and I have it over several classes.

Why dont i get rate ups from my original class? I give good practical advice, drawn from experience, and yet i have a brown name after all this?

C'mon fellow warlocks.. rate me up, or trash me, but give it to me straight.

This is an excellent way of getting a rate-down.

Seriously. Either people think you're helpful (or popular) enough for a rate up or obnoxious enough for a rate down or they just find you forgettable and don't care one way or another. Quit being an attention *****.

So, who exactly are you? The only OP by you in the last couple of months is a question asking how to make macros.

In general, I give up-rates for information that's new to me, or for innovative ways of playing/speccing. Ratedowns are much easier to get from me: asking questions where the answer is readily available in stickies (here or in the main forum); inaccurate or inadequate answers to questions; slutting for karma makes the list as well.

Yeah I have to agree with Ohmike I haven't seen you around here. Now I'll admit I don't look at every thread but I really haven't seen anything from you so how would I rate you up.

It is hard to specifically describe what would earn a rate-up without using bland generalities such as "informative" or "helpful".

Conversly, the original post is a near-perfect example of what many posters (not necessarily myself) could very concretely describe as deserving rate-down.

I am no poster on the warlock forum but I AM a reader of it (although I do love playing mine). But this is across all forums here the most pathetic post I have seen so far I think.

Apparently for the raters here you are default default defaulter. It would suit you if after this post you would become sub-default so my filter keeps these posts away next time... /smile.

I am no rater myself though so I can not contribute.

Poldaran, your reply reminded me so fiercefully of the old MUD times! Thanks! (though I absolutely love the graphical version that WoW is a lot better it isn't a bad thing to be reminded at times!)

QQ more. If you deserve a rate up in the eyes of the community, you'll get one. Posts like this tend to get automatic rate downs. You'll soon find that those of us that actually DO contribute valuable information on the forums don't really care about karma one way or the other. It comes or it doesn't, the pretty color to your name doesn't make you cool.
