ok, I'm ret...and yes, "ret noob, lol ret" etc... but two questions:

A)Is Oathkeeper good for ret pallys or not?

B)Is my gear good for ret or do i need more intellect? http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-...mp;n=Oofman

hmm, most would say yes. It has the highest top end damage of any blue and with a lvl 68 requirement it has 93.3 dps which is what lvl 70 weapons have. for ret it's got some definite good points. I personally don't prefer it cause it lacks enough str or crit for my taste... but the str it lacks compared to some other weapons is around the difference the extra top end damage would make, so it's a fairly even trade in my opinion. the lack of crit though annoys me. the int is a good thing. the spell damage is nearly worthless, especially now. i'd use it till you get to 70 at least. there's not gonna be a better weapon till then anyway. once you're at 70 there's a few other options. this and this are 2 that i like. first one has a lot of the hit rating you'll want, and the other has good str, stam and crit. it's really up to you though.

um, you're definitely on the right track. your mana is good. i wouldn't worry too much about getting more at the moment. i'd start building as much str as you can and a little more crit. at least get yourself closer to 25% crit. once you're at 25% crit, get your str up as much as you can.

i would worry more about your spec than your gear. divine int? if i told you you could get 2 int per talent point would you thinkg that was worth it? you have 121 int. that means about 10 ofthat comes from your divine intelect talents. 10 int for 5 talent points isn't much of a good tradeoff for me. on the other hand you'd get 33 more str from divine strength. I'd go that route, personally. that's 66 more AP.

i really really recommend precision in the prot tree. it takes 8 talent points to get there. if it was me... i'd take the 5 points in deflection and put them in improved devotion aura, and the 3 points in vindication and put them in precision. i haven't done quite that on my char yet, mostly cause i'm too lazy to make it to a trainer to relearn my talents... if you're gonna be pvp'ing a lot, and not ever trying heroics or raiding then you might be able to leave your talents where they are. vindication will make a bigger difference in pvp.

if you want more help you can read the ret guide some tool wrote.... hasn't been stickied yet, but it's just a little bit down this first page still....
guide

i'm not gonna say it's answering every question you've ever had, but maybe it'll help :)

Oathkeeper is what Blizz thought was good for a Ret pally.

This is what is good for a ret pally now if your looking for a good weapon to just outright buy on the AH for cheap while you get something better.
