No point to this post but to tell my story.

My friend's a holy pally, fairly well geared too. I'm levelling a druid on his server to play, and when I was 65 he was helping me with some quests in coilfang reservoir. So we're off to underbog, with the idea being him healing, me tanking "I think I'm high enough that I should tank this time" (since he tanked in ST and I healed...him in his healing gear me in my feral gear). So we find 3 DPS, figure CC can be forgotten about, and we're off!
Well, my friend turned out to be able to pretty much hold aggro better than me, and since he had about 5k armor more and less than 1K health less than me, we figured he should tank. Looked in LFG for a healer for a while, everyone was feral, shadow, or prot, so I just asked him "why don't you tank and heal?"
He tanked without losing aggro unless I growled, kept everyone alive, and still pulled 35% of the DPS, topping the charts. I know he's a 70, but still...he did everything better than me when I'm doing one thing at a time.

Oh well, I'll be off-tanking his kara group in a week, so I can't complain.

And he's wearing plate. =)

He probably has excellant spell damage from his healing gear and even if he doesn't have the talents spent in the threat ability that some raids require, it's not a suprise he could hold aggro quite well. With no CC, he probably just spammed consecration and then healed through the damage.

Don't worry, look at it this way - when you reach his level of gear on your tanking druid, you will be a better tank than his holy spec. =)

I certainly hope the equally geared and feral specced druid can out-tank the holy specced pally >_>

Both awesome tanks with different functions. Like a Holy Pally is a great single target healer and a Shammy can use chain heals to hit mulitple people at once. Bear tank is great for single target threat and having the HP to take big hits. A Prot Pally is amazing on picking upa bunch of mobs and holding them.

Which is why a lot of guilds stack healers/tanks of different classes since they compliment each others strengths and weaknesses. So don't you worry, bear tanks and prot pallies a like guy lots of love.

He isn't prot, he's holy.

I dig, I go in on nether dailies and grab 5-6 mobs and consecrate with RF up and my brother drops seeds of corruptions.

Even went in and soloed Strat UD for a pally that needed the water for his mount, its amazing what a couple levels make. Also tanked Galv in AV in my healing gear.

But there are elites and then there are elites, as the saying I just made up goes.
