Dismounting the enemy...Follow

I just got my first honor kill today. Woot! I have a question though. While I was chasing some lowbie in Hellfire Peninsula I would Mangle him and he didn't dismount. Then as he was running I tried to Moonfire him, but nothing would make that sucker fall off. Does moonfire ever dismount? Is there some good ability that druids have to dismount somebody to keep them from running? I'm pretty sure pounce would work, but is there an alternate option? Also, if I do the charging move(forget name) with the bear, will that dismount them?

Druids have no class ability to dismount a player. Generally the only way you can be dismounted is by being polymorphed or dazed by a mob.

If you just got your first HK while you were in outland I guess I could understand... Like Esoa said, only polymorph and daze can dismount people... Any more and PvP servers would just be a pain. I could see you thinking that stunning them might dismount them, but it doesnt : ( However... you COULD try to "stun-lock" them in kitty form while they're on their mount. then Switch to bear form > Feral Charge > Bash. Together that's something like 10-11 seconds of stuns, then Entangle Roots and blast away with some spells. Hope it helped : )

Edit: info on stun times

Most of my PvP thus far seems to be against druids that are higher level than me, and at 62 I had a 65 druid to < 40% before the stun wore off. If he's fighting same level players, unless it's a plate wearer or a warlock, he can probably get a kill without bothering to root and blast. But if not, rooting is perfectly acceptable :)

ya, only polymorph or mob daze (from pve mobs) can remove a player from his or her mount.

the best thing to do otherwise would be to run around with a paladin ready to judge justice. that limits the targets speed to 100%, meaking their mount effectively useless. alternatively, a snaring class like a shaman, warrior, hunter, or rogue can be used, but that can still be problematic at times. the best bets are poly and judging justice.

Cool. Thanks for all the info. I wish I was on a PvP server now, b/c it's sooo much fun. Sucks that there's no surefire way to dismount somebody though.

It's only fun when you want to PvP. If you were actually on a PvP server you'd probably hate it from all the times you got ganked while trying to do normal stuff.

Yeah, every toon I have leveled has been ganked by higher level or multiple enemys probably 100 times. That's why I know that alliance are scum!

Because it's not like hordes ever do that?

They only do it because the alliance do it, of course. We're vengeful bastards. ;)

Yeah, I've never been ganked by higher lvl horde. Well, except for those 11 or 12 times in Stonetalon. And those 20 or so times in STV. Maybe a few dozen times in Ashenvale....

Scum are scum, faction notwithstanding.

Don't forget about outlands. I swear I got ganked more in outlands than I did through 1-57 combined.

Yeah, I hated being on a pvp server till I got to lvl 70 and got some decent gear. It makes it sooo much fun to go to low level areas and gank, just like was done to me.
