Casual Duo Levelling with PaladinFollow

I've posted this question on the Paladin forums and they've referred me here.

I've convinced my fiancee to play WoW with me and she has rolled a mage. My first toon and only 70 is a mage so I'm pretty familiar with the mechanics and how to's of the class. I've rolled a Paladin to run alongside of her.

Anyway, as per suggestions in the Paladin forums I've rerolled protection so that we can AoE when we both reach the 30s (we are now 23). I am inquiring as to how she could boost her DPS as I am currently higher on the meters - which is really shocking to me.

I've looked a bit deeper at our combat logs (I'm a pretty hardcore gamer, whereas she is a total neophyte but getting better) and it seems that I'm dropping mobs before she can get her second fireball off. Is there a better way for us to pull single targets so that they go down faster (and that she is more responsible for dropping them)? She is currently specced Fire (moving towards 10/48/3) and she really enjoys hucking giant columns of flame.

I've suggested to her (and we haven't tried it yet as she just learned it) that she follow up her first fireball with a scorch to get that second spell off before I hit it with my sword. Are there any other tips that you vets might have?

Thanks in advance.

Having her scorch the targets will def make her feel like she's putting moar into the fight but as far as damage goes...what's the toon/server name? I'll look at the gear and spec.

wow, ya. I think it will come with time.

I started wow as a mage with a pally buddy. By 25 he re-rolled a lock becasue he was pissed that he barely dented the mob before I droped it, and seemed to do nothing effectivly but watch me destroy mobs and maybe help out if I got in trouble. Again niether of us knew a thing about wow.

I suspect it's just down do you being an experiance player and her just learning to play video games. Maybe even have her open on solo'able mobs.
