PvE DPS as a 2h Arms WarriorFollow

#1 Feb 08 2008 at 12:15 PM Rating: Decent
I'm a 50 warrior trying to choose an endgame spec. I really enjoy PvE and I'm looking forward to raiding but I still want to be able to PvP and play on an Arena team. I've been specced for dw fury the whole way up to 50, but I'm strongly considering switching to an MS/imp slam build. I've read that while well-geared dw fury warriors can put out great DPS in raid situations, they don't have much viability in PvP or Arenas because they lack burst damage. I've also read that with a good imp slam rotation (autoattack - slam - MS - autoattack - slam - WW), a warrior with a 2h can put up solid DPS in raids while getting to spec MS for PvP. My question then, is how does a warrior with a 2h slam rotation compare with dw fury for PvE DPS?

I don't mean for this to be a "rate my spec!" post, but I'm going to include it anyway.

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LVMcdAboghzbZE0zm0gM is the spec I'm working with at the moment. If I do end up using this spec at 50, which tree should I fill out first. My natural inclination would be fury for the imp slam talent but if MS is good for grinding, I'd like to take it.

comparing, you'll find your a bit behind a d/w'ing warrior in the dps charts.

In fact, you'll be doing 'okay' dps.

It is much easier to gear for 2h than it is for d/w.

Find a slow, high dps 2h, get 9% to hit, stack Str(AP)/Crit/ArP...

d/w is the same, but don't worry about having more than 9% to hit.

The main difference is that 2h only gets 1x factors for white dps, while d/w get's 1.5 x or 1.625 x factors for white dps.
