Defence or Offence in AVFollow

My holy pvp friends. (Horde) Which do you prefer to do more in AV, which do you think we are helping our team at more? Offence or Defence in AV.

On my battle relm, Reckoning. Allaince always wins, well sorta. They rush about 25-30 players for our Relief Hut. They barely stop to get anything and most of the time they skip Malv. Once they get RH they go to Drekk, most of the time they don't even wait on their towers to cap, they suck. They win but usually only like 200-300 honor. Sometimes they barely break 170 honor.

Only way horde wins is by a great balance group or by turtling the RH and letting our small offence deplete their reinforcements. Which is where my healing shines.

Rushing Aid station takes a smart group because its crawling with elite npc's with endless health pools, while our RH sites baren all by its self and allaince skips our whole town of npc's.

I may be the only person who blames the winning teams poor strategy as the reason I loose lol. But it sucks, damn you allaince, play it right so you at least get 500 honor like you should. Either way I usually get top heals, especially if I stay on D.

IMO be thankful alliance and horde play this way. You may be losing, but you still get decent honor for a loss. Start turtling and shutting out alliance and alliance will stop queueing and AV queue times will near 2 hours. On my BG, ig you got AV as alliance you will be in for a long game and get zero bonus honor. Because of this, horde has 2 hour queues. Heres to patch 2.4, no diminishing returns on HKs, balanced starting caves and field of strife old school HK farming.

Defense

Horde should win 80-90 percent of time if they aren't its because they aren't controlling the mid and defending Galv/IBGY/RH.

Actually thats the problem, horde goes to mid IBgy but allaince just runs past it, they skip Galv, they skip IBGY, they skip IB Tower. Sure you can snag some but when 30 rush, at least half will get by. This is a new thing and our strategy has yet to adapt, so now horde just has to D up between our last two towers and hope to buy offence time.

Even on the old system when horde never lost, our que times have always been instant, in my bg group allaince outnumber horde easily 3 to 1 so ques have never been a problem.

Please don't be insulted but the problem is the midless people that are just playing from pattern, habit, and repitition and not reacting to situations.

I hope the new patch brings the PVP back to AV so that people actually try to block and fight. Then i can sit on D and heal my team and collect honor.

You just need heavy D. When you kill that initial rush they won't have a GY to spawn at and have to run all the back down the map and more than likely it won't be a another group of 30 that comes back it'll be 3 or 4 at a time and then 5 or 6 of you guys on D near RH could easily kill them meanwhile the others are taking resources and winning the match as they continually try and take Drek. Easy win

Yea thats how it use to be, was like that for months, but trust me when I say this, they run by and they will make it to RH, not all but enough to take flag and you have to either let them have RH or send some back to get it and then the cup over flows. They zerg RH and don't dismount till they are there.

That’s why you leave all but 5 or 6 guys defending RH until their initial wave is crushed the 4 or 5 not on D can go and cap the neutral GY and then either fall back if you need more D or advance to Balinda/SHGY. The key is getting everyone to wait for their rush but once that initial push is stopped they’re done for.

As an Ally, if I see a premade or heavy D on horde. I call all Allies to take SH gy and pull back and recap ever tower the HORDE own. IF Horde want to waste my time with Heavy D or with Premade with Heavy D I go outta my way to make sure the HORDE get next to ZERO honor with their premade. Don't be dumb. Take your towers, guard them, cap them, then try to kill Vann before the Allies. This way we all get honor and noone has to celebrates a birthday in an 2 hour AV turtle. Play smart not NOOB. AV should last no more than 20 minutes and everyone horde/ally should get at least 300 honor.

You're part of the "lets lose quick rather than win" crowd eh? Well you're one of the reasons I quit pvping. I want to play the game, not sit back lose, and collect loot. Simply collecting loot is boring.

Hey, Flavadave, you're on Reckoning too? I used to play AV all the time, until I finally got pissed enough at our Horde Defeatist Strategy.
