Tanking addons/macros?Follow

Well, I'm pretty much at the point where my gear is respectable for OT Kara, but before I begin, I was wondering if I could get some opinions from some more experienced tanks as far as useful addons/macros go.

Currently all I use is Omen threat meter, so I'm wondering if there's anything else I should consider using. One thing in particular I'm looking for is some way to mark targets more efficiently - currently I'm doing it all manually via right click menu, which isn't great when a fight gets a bit chaotic and I need to mark something mid-battle.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I use QuickMark. Adds a box with buttons for the symbols that is always visible. You do still have to switch targets to mark them, however. It's worked fine for me. Once you get used to it, you get pretty smooth at switching targets to mark quickly mid-battle. Here's a link to get it from curse-gaming. http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9867/

[edit] Just came across another addon called Markbar. Description: This is an adjustable toolbar with raid target icon buttons; quicker and easier than the standard UI target popup menu. It also allows to set icons descriptions (ie sheep, sap,...) and party member assignments in order to dump that info in the chat.

Same as QuickMark but with the assignment option. I'll have to check this one out. http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/6418/

Thank you Dud for recommending QuickMark; I was just in the process of looking for something that does just that.

I also use OptiTaunt; this announces resisted taunts and taunt immunity to the party or raid.

I was wondering if anyone know of any good addons that allowed perhaps a little window on the interface tht has say every mob tht is currently aggroed to the party or what have you.

This is so I can easily switch between them without running the risk of hitting a cc'd mob (which lets face it - tab always does! ;d)

Even better would be tht this 'aggro box' has icons each mob has been assigned so I'm constantly got a quick target mechanism instead of relying on name plates above heads in the field.

Doing this totally from memory, but it goes something like:

/castsequence reset=3 Mangle (Bear), Lacerate, Lacerate, Lacerate

You can single-tank pretty much anything by spamming that macro and hitting Maul when you have extra rage. Keep FFF and Demo Roar (if there isn't a Warrior already using Demo Shout) up as much as possible.
