So...I turned in my 360 unidentified plant parts today, got myself honored with the Cenarion Expedition. All well and good right?

Sure...until you realize that I didn't get a single uncatalogued species out of all of that! I was really hoping to get that extra rep (wowwiki seems to think you can get 7 or 8), but it's not to be.

Sigh...will just make my grind for Earthwarden longer, I suppose.

Sorry...just needed to vent about that.

Stupid plants.

True enough. I'm only level 60, so it's not that big of an issue, I was just really annoyed that I didn't get a single one.

Maybe my other druid will get some. That would be nice, though I don't know that I'll bother to get her exalted, since she's balance. Need to get the clefthoof recipes for her, though.

Sometimes I wish I'd made my feral druid the leatherworker, and my balance druid the alchemist, but from what I understand, the BoP leatherworker stuff is pretty much top end for balance, so I can't complain too much.

It's kinda the other around way for me. Yesterday I runned 3 different instances. All of the drops for all of them were caster drops and some really good healer drops.
Our healer were quite happy /shrug

I meant along the lines of grey items, white items.
Like *cloth or other white items.
Usually all I get is the stuff noone else wants. Like broken weapons or a chipped fang heh
I still vendor it, it helps pay for any repairs I need.

Well I think I have you all beat on this one.

As soon as I hit Zangarmarsh I ran to the Cenarion Expedition like a kid running to the ice cream truck. After finishing all the quests there I am very pleased being Honored and on my way to the Earthwarden. Little did I know with my limited play time I basically screwed myself out of ever getting the earthwarden.

No problem I thought. Theres gotta be another Druid tanking weapon out there that is easily avaiable. Wrong again! Already getting sick of looking at Braxxis staff I finally do the quest to get the Staff of Beasts. Nice change for a while but not really a tanking weapon.

Finally I found my answer... Terestian's Stranglestaff in Kara! I figured since the rest of my gear was up to par I could sacrifice the armor and still be able to OT with no problems. After downing Illhoof the 11th time and no F@#$ing Staff I was a little upset. Of course with all the time I put into the kara runs I easily could have run SV enough times to have the Earthwarden. Live and learn I guess.

However I did manage to tank thru Gruul, Mag, and into ZA. So life without the Earthwarden is possible just don't plan on there being many alternatives as you progress thru end game raids.

Hopefully someone will read this and not make the same mistake I did.

For CE rep, don't forget that you can also run heroic SP & UB for rep - not just Steamvaults. They are not that hard once you know the pulls and it is much better than burning yourself out on Steamvaults.

I'd still take the 2500+ armor from Braxxis over any of the DPS feral weapons. You can always turn in a ton of Coilfang Armaments for rep, or run Heroic SP. Fast, easy, and no really specific class requirements.

The next tanking staff drops off trash in SSC if your guild has Gruul and Mag down. That's something to look forward to.

I'm after Warden, already have Brexxis. Mostly for the +Def on the Warden, just a little more versitility you can use for the rest of your gear.

Being that my raiding time has been reduced to barely anything would you recommend braxxis staff over the staff of beasts even if my armor is above where it should be?

I was thinking the extra damage would be nice for rage and threat purposes. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong...

To me it's a tradeoff - either turn in the plant parts (and hope for plant species) or run UB and SP. Both routes stop giving honor at honored. I did a bit of both, but wish I'd done more of the instances - I'm grinding sporregar rep and need the hybiscuses and the xp and drops are better.

I did manage to postpone most of the quests (including the ones in TF and BE) until I reached honored, so I'm hoping to be at or close to revered by the time I hit 70. Still, I'm about to become very familiar with SV (again, since I ran it over and over with my hunter for the Beast Lord pieces thre).

Well you have a few things still available to get you a bunch of rep yet. You said you just hit 60 and turned in a bunch of the unidentified plants.

Now what you have to look forward to are the quests. If you do all the quests you will be able to gain about 16K rep (if I remember correctly). This will get you into revered and a little way toward exalted. Unfortunately after this you have the rest of the rep to grind through instance runs and armament turn ins.

But by looking at WowWiki and having a game plan to get the needed rep, you are far ahead of the average player.

Currently my guild has kara and gruul on farm. We have defeated Mag, VR and a few bosses in ZA also, but I won't say they are on farm status yet. Following WowWiki's advice on the rep for CE I have my Earthwarden and the Stranglestaff.

It will come in due time my young furry compatriot. Nothing comes for free.
