#1 Feb 07 2008 at 6:09 PM Rating: Decent
What do you guys think?

20 hit rating.

40 Attack Power

25 Agility.

Ive been leaning towards the 20 Hit rating lately but I want to know what other Rogues usually use.

Before the Cooking daily went live, I was a fan of ravager dogs for raiding, but now 20 hit rating is the best

Spicy Hot Talbuk gives that buff

And when you're hit-capped?

I'd think the 25 agility but I dunno...

Well, if you do indeed have the 363 hit rating to be capped (with precision), then either AGI or AP will do, depending on which gives you more raid dps according to the spreadsheet.

EDIT: punctuation pwns me

You should never be hit-capped. You're wasting gear slots/gem slots if you are.

Wait, What?

Weren't we supposed to try and get hit capped at once upon a time or is that a thing of the past? (Perhaps it was just a nice idea? I'm really not sure.)

And here I've been busting my *** to get hit rating over every other stat available to us...

that's what i've always read. reach the hit cap and then work on other stuff. maybe this is a question of semantics. certainly don't want to go over 363 but everything i've read says to try and reach it.

Hit Rating is important to a certain point, then you are losing out trying to erase the few few few (get the point here?) misses you'll get.

There's little to no chance you'll reach 363 hit without gearing solely for hit, which will have you sacrificing other stats which would up your DPS.

Gearing for hit blindly is bad for DPS.

Sadly I agree with Theo that you shouldnt be trying to reach the cap. I'm just not sure where the happy medium sits.

I am finding it really hard to improve hit at the moment - in fact I'm going from nice +hit kara gear to SSC gear with 0 +hit and pondering how useful this might be.

I guess I'll watch my overall dps and see if it drops.

But yeah. To answer the OP, I use +hit food.

There's no "happy medium" that you should be maintaining. There's DPS stats, and DPS stats. Use AEP.

If you don't know how to use AEP, learn. Shadowpanther has a pretty good explanation of how AEP values work.

The hit cap used to be attainable without sacrificing other stats, but no longer. One very important part of being successful in raiding is your ability to adapt your practices and equipment when patches are implemented.
