Survivor Spec

Does anyone play this spec fulltime? If so, how do you like it? I have retro 70 pally and muti 70 rogue. I do great with both of them, wearing s1/s3 gears. But I need to respec pally if I want to be great tank/healer. The thing with rogue is if I go combat/subtlety, then I can only use most of the skills every 5 min (without counting preparation), which is not ideal for non arena. And I can't go subtlety for arena, I could, but it doesn't work too well. So, I am trying to make 3rd char who can do well in both arena and pve. I got my druid to 48 now. I assume with that build and share healing/tank gear, I should be fine in arena, since I won't die that easy, I just cycle instant heals and bear form. And I will be fine in pve as cat form. And I assme I can be tank/dps/healer, at the switch of gears. So, if any of you out there with this spec, please let me know your experience.

I kindly thank you.

I asked a similar question last week and the answers I received basically said that a specialized build will beat the generalized build. With out Mangle your cat form DPS is significantly less (I think 30% was the number used), and in bear form crit immunity will be harder to achieve. As far as healing goes you don't lose quite as much but you still won't be as effective as a more specialized build. Finally PvE tends to require different stats than PvP, so if you really want to do both you either need two characters or cough up the dough for the respecs and multiple sets of gear.

"a specialized build will beat the generalized build."
That statement is not necessarily true. Without wanting to go further, I would say one can always argue against it and vice versa.
But in terms of spec, 0/30/31 should allow me to tank/dps/heal without having to respec, I think. It might not be as good as pure tank/dps/heal. But the way I see is if you are doing instances and party needs either tank or healer, you can become one just at a swap of gear and depends on gear you should be able to do heroic on this spec. Dps might not be as good due to the loss of mangle in party but in pvp i think you can hold your own due to your healing ability, and can outlive your enemy. at least that's what i think, but then I still need more lvls to go and get s1/s2/s3 gear to really see.

This is quite the answer for your question.
I would just like to add that there is a "general" build that works for Arena (and is, in fact, quite good), BG and PvE(but not raid). It's the "Dreamstate/Swiftness" build. I don't have the actual tree, but I figure you should look more into it.

edit: As you said, you CAN use a feral/resto build. It's just not as good. I would say it's, at least, 50% less effective as the deeper one.
And it's 90% of the time useless at a raid. But, you can use it in BG. Arena, I doubt it.

Prot warrior and feral druid vs. resto druid? Of course you can't kill him. Nor should you expect to. I doubt you could kill any healer.

no, from the wings, it it a paladin. And since u have feral and he is using sword and shield, he would be a healer. so, most likely less than prot warrior in dps.

I looked up on DS-NS, they have 2 specs. 34/0/27 and 31/0/30. Seems good since you don't need to change gear as long as you get +spell/healing gear. I might try that.

I didn't really see many shreds in that video. Spamming mangle isn't as good as having a mangle going then shredding. The feral druid could have also maimed him to keep him from getting a HT off.
