PVP petFollow

I currently level with a boar but was looking for something with higher DPS. I was thinking of either a cat or a spider. I know that most people will say cat but I think that the spiders look pretty cool. I was just looking for input on what the experts say! :)

BTW, I am currently level 16 and pretty new to the game, so that kinda limits what pets I know that I am able to find to tame.

Thanks for input.

Just to clarify I am going to keep using my Boar for leveling and for PVE I am just looking for something for PVP as I recently tried a BG and it was really fun.

Edited for clarity

At level 16, boars are actually a really good pet to have because of the Charge ability. Abilities similar to that (Dash and Dive) aren't available until level 30 - if I remember correctly.

:)

Stick with a boar, the utility of them beats out the DPS of a cat, raptor, ravager, scorpid, windserpent or spider.

However, I will say this; if you DO decided to go with something else, go with a scorpid, the poison it has is great for PvP and keeping people from living too long, since at that lvl I think Druids are the only class that can get rid of poisons (I migth be wrong about that).

If you want to go with a spider it is your choice of course. If you like spiders you like spiders. They have no real abilities BUT ONE:

There are players who in real life are terrified of spiders, no less spiders their own size. I once read a small post/article whatever that for those people the spider pet is actually the best choice. /smile

Arachnaphobia for the win!

I'll third or fourth the boar recommendation for your level. What race are you playing? If a night elf, once you get into your low 30s and can learn prowl from the cats in Alterac, you could switch to one of those. A stealthed hunter and pet is great for PvP.

Evil...absolutely evil.

I hate spiders in real life. And I'm not a big fan of them coming after me in the game either. I don't know that it affects my gameplay...but maybe. If I had a choice of attacking a hunter with a boar pet or a spider pet. I would probably attack the one with the boar.

So it sounds like cat I wondered about the spider only having bite and how much that would affect its dps.

I am a Dwarf so I cant get to the scorpions or raptors I don't think. At least I don't know how to get to them.

and like I said I am definatly stickin with the boar for PVE and Leveling. Just using the cat for BGs

It seems you are the confirmation of the statement.

Do not worry though, I am not sending a spider after you, I always use my flapping bloodsucker Ressan the Needler.

I know this isn't very common, but if you go to the Oasis in the Barrens, pick yourself up a turtle and give it a go. It's DPS isn't amazing, but it does give you the chance to hurl a heck of a lot of ammo at the mob while it sits there.
Plus when yo get into the 30s you can get one which has shell shield.

There shouldn't be anything stopping you getting a raptor or scorpid as far as I know
