Genius? or Fail?Follow

Ok ok, I've posted probably about 1 specc thread every 2 days the last week trying to find a good specc for my new rogue.....

Now, you'll probably see my questions on Hemo Builds somewhere below this one, after consideration, i figured i'm not the extremely slow weapons type.

Anyways.......... I have a new idea for a sort of Combat Swords build.... It needs a little explaining, then by all means flame it to hell! :)

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3250000050000000000000253050000050150023010000500531000000000000000

Ok firstly, the specc into Subtlety is for opener/Ghostly Strike only.

As many of you know Garrote is a popular opener in PvP and PvE... If you check.... It's got almost all the garrote friendly talents to help make your opener that much better (Oppertunity, Initiative)!

Secondly, the Ghostly Strike added bonus means you do more than Spam SS constantly every 20secs you can get a nice bonus of 15% dodge to your SS.(Great for PvE and PvP)

Thirdly, complementing the Ghostly Strike we have Lethality and Remorsless attacks, meaning that it's not just a nice buff your getting, but the move itself is viable for some nice damage!

Forthly, you have all your combat sword needs (clearly you can specc into Mace instead if you prefer) the only thing missing is Combat Potency and Surprise Attacks... Which i admit are great talents to have for all occasions... but this Hybrid/Combat Specc to me looks like a winner :) I don't mean winner as in better, i mean that it's a viable option to replace what people are often calling the monotonous routine of combat specc. Its a more interesting approach to get to the same outcome damage wise, while offering new toys to play with :)

Its simply replacing, Energy Gain with Damage/Survivability.... Energy = Damage... so there isnt all that much difference.

Please, flame away, i'd love to see some gaps in my cloth armour :O

The only somewhat viable tri-spec is 11/28/22 hemo.

I didn't even bother looking at that spec because I know it isn't.

Combat potency is one of the strengths of a deep combat build and any build that goes 31 into combat but doesn't go 40 for combat potency isn't going to be very good in PVE.

It won't even be close in DPS to a 20/41 swords build.

While anyone can see where you're coming from, what you fail to realize is that what you give up is much less than you gain from leaving out those combat talents further down.

Do you really think 20% more on your garrote and having ghostly strike will make up for losing combat potency AND surprise attacks?

Besides that stuff though, that build is basically full of nub. Relentless strikes is like the best PvE talent there is in a raid build, and you just left it out. And you took 5/5 dodge, which is just silly. And how could it be good for PvP without imp kick? And, you took improved eviscerate over ruthlessness. And you took remorseless attacks.

I wrote the start of this post before looking at the build, and that last paragraph after. I changed my mind, no one can see where you're coming from. You have no business making a rogue build.

This build is awful. You go 15 points into Assassination and you pass up the two reasons to go 11+ deep into assassination: Relentless Strikes and Ruthlessness.
