I know this is kind of a situation post, my guild is stuck on the Hex Lord in ZA, and said I need at least 120 unbuffed Shadow Resist to fight the boss with them.
My question is, what are good picks for Shadow Resist gear you use without butchering your DPS?
I did a search for Shadow gear and Everything is crafted stuff, with +stamina only on it with the resist. Am I missing something, Or can I get away with only needing to switch out 3 maybe 4 pieces of gear?

The epic shadow resistance gear for the Mother Shahraz fight is great for hunters, and is BoE, or if you are a LW and have on guild on your server that is running BT or Hyjal, and are friendly with Ashtongue, you can craft it yourself.

If you have the hearts of darkness which are really expensive on AH.
On my server they cost somthing like 600-1000g a piece since most raids still need them for themselves.
Thus if you can get access to a few hearts, go for this set. 3 pieces will bring you to your 150 unbuffed shadow resist.
Since I don't believe you have access to those things (otherwise you'd probably know about this gear), you might want to buy some shadow resist gear from the ah.
Buy a ring and a headpiece with lots of shadow resist on it (some green gear, and apply a +20 shadow resist enchant on it).
This should get you to ~70-80 shadow resist. Buy another 1-2 pieces of green gear and you have your basic shadow resist gear.
Of course this will butcher your damage output, but that is always the case with shadow resist gear.
CoH priest > Spirit Bolts
We run with zero shadow resist save a priest's buffs, everyone save the tank collapses in on the priest during spirit bolts, he spams CoH on the two groups.
If you don't have a CoH priest, then you probably need to find some shadow resist. And no, you can't get shadow resist gear that doesn't gimp your damage, unless you spend hours or days farming the Ethereum Prison bosses for the ring/cloak so that your damage is only partly gimped.
