Duo with warrior spec to use?Follow

#1 Feb 06 2008 at 5:46 AM Rating: Decent
Hey,
I'm new to druid class I got lvl 30 yesterday. I start my druid as an alt to lvl exclusively with a friend warrior. We will quest duo and instance we plan to take a break of leveling at 39 for pvp.

I read the sticky and haven't found what I want. I'm not sure if I have to go all feral for more dps or healer to keep my warrior alive. As feral can I main heal Azeroth instance up to Black rock dept?
thx

I'd stick with Feral for the time being, makes Solo'ing and Duo'ing much easier.

Make yourself a Gear set for Healing and you'll do fairly well in instances, bring along a back up healer though, for the Rez if nothing else.

IMO, you can spec any way that appeals to you with this duo.

Feral will of course bring great DPS and you'll be taking stuff down really, really fast. You can still heal as needed while questing, and heal instances with healing gear.

Speccing resto will make finding groups easy (you've got a tank and healer), and I really like the tank/healer combo for duoing myself - the two of you together will be invincible, taking down tons of mobs at once, and if you also do some casting DPS you'll blow through quests pretty fast. Plus, if you have any interest in leveling a healer in the healing spec, as one part of a duo is a great way to do it.

I have no personal experience with the balance spec, but I'm guessing that with a warrior, ranged DPS would be awfully nice, and again, you can still heal as needed.

All the duo characters I've ever done have been for casual fun on nights when we feel like doing something different. If that's the case for you, I'd say just pick something that's a refreshing change from whatever your main is and have fun with it.

until you reach level 70 and do heroic instances, you can use ANY spec. just remember to keep a set of healing gear for instances. (unless you get another healer) as far as anyone else bothers. you can do moonkin or feral for dps to speed up your questing. for resto .. well it's only good if you're doing instances only. which with the 2.2 patch is an entirely viable alternative. (keep out of reach of those pesky 70s from killing you in 1-2 shots). just remember to remind him you can do dps, heal or tank but you can only do one item at a time.

Just wanted to chime in.

leveling, go feral for greater DPS. It's the fastest way to go about it. Have a healing set that is half decent as well, and all you need is 3 DPS to make the instance.

For PvP? I'd change my gear to get the most intellect/stamina you can for one set, and get a healing gear set. For spec, you and your warrior friend should both ask the various twinks on the BG forums, as they'll tell you what spec is most worthwhile at that level.

In WSG, throw on your stam/intellect gear, and run the flag. Free action pots will be a godsend for you, although most people won't spend cash on pots(understandable). Have the warrior meet you for support, and have him charge/hamstring and intercept/hamstring everything he can for fast honor/marks. For AB, throw your healing gear on and let the warrior DPS the carp out of everything.

buy a pair of pants and put [wowitem=24275]Silver Spell thread[/wowitem] on them. It's not very expensive, and will noticeably boost your healing.

You can pretty use any spec you want. My suggestion is to try them all and see what you like best.
