Feral Druid in Arena?Follow

Hi

Wondering, is their even any feral druids in arena? Just that my experince say that 95% of druids in arena is either resto or balance.
So is it because feral is a difficult build to play with in arena or just that ppl are tired of playing as feral because they level with it?

If you know a good feral build for arena/pvp please link, with some comments :)

And just explain how come you don't see that much feral druids in pvp. Or is it just me? :)

I don't know (mainly since my druid is only 66 atm) but I've heard they really screwed up arena for feral druids, or vice versa.

I've played arena with my feral druid. I don't think it is that hard, you just need to have a decent team and know how to use all your druid abilities. The problem is if you don't have a dedicated healer (such as my 2 or 3 team) you are expected to heal as well as fight. Once you start healing you are instant target. Yes I know feral aren't great healers, but the ability to pop out and rejuv or lifebloom can be a lifesaver.

The biggest challenge is in the smaller teams, knowing when to throw out heals, when to cyclone, and when to shred away. In a 5v5 feral druids don't have the mana to try to heal so I would make sure you're in a group with a decent healer and go to town as cat or bear. Again, know which form to use and use all your abilities, bash, heal, stealth, cyclone, even travel form to get some room to heal, all are needed.

2v2, go for resto. balance and feral are almost useless for higher brackets.
3v3, resto also, but balance have some use. feral are still useless for higher brackets.
5v5, resto have the same use, comparatively, as balance, but druids actually lose most of their power at 5v5. But, if I'm not mistaken, this is where the feral druid, actually, has some use. But druids aren't the way to go at 5v5.

Feral is gimped in arena because it lacks a snare, a healing debuff, and an interrupt that doesn't gimp damage output. Oh yea and it has no instant CC useable in DPS form. So it's 0/4 in stuff that is important.

You might say, well yea but it gets heals and cyclone and can shift out of snares but the problem with all that is most of it is already covered by your teammates and (for healing) you are wearing for wrong gear. Healing and cyclone/roots also require you to be in caster form and cast, meaning you aren't doing any DPS. Hybrids have always been a problem in organized PvP in pretty much any MMO because their skills get so diluted and aren't needed. These skills are what make feral a pretty good BG or solo PvP spec, but they are next to worthless for arena.

Also before anyone says "we don't have a snare because we get 30% bonus runspeed in cat form", that doesn't quite work. Maybe if we had 100% bonus runspeed. Vs. our target we run 30% faster. A warrior or rogue vs. his target runs 100% faster. Also, we can still be snared in forms which means we run at 65% speed vs. someone who is unsnared (because we have no snare). A warrior or rogue who is snared runs at the same speed as their target. Yes, we can shift out of snares but a) it costs a global cooldown b) it often costs us energy or rage.
