Hi all...

As the title says, I just want to find out how much hit and spell hit does a Shaman require?

Assuming that the talents are taken from the Resto tree to give more hit/spell hit.
Can you give me an answer on the following two questions:

1. How much +Hit does a Enhancement Shaman thats duel wielding need?

2. How much +Spell Hit does an Elemental Shaman need?

Short answers would be great thank you.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about melee, but for spells, you need 16% between talents and Spell Hit from gear. So subtract the amount from talents and divide by (12.6, iirc) and you have what you need. Don't forget to include Totem of Wrath's +hit in the calculation.

As far as mele goes, between maxed dual wield specialization and nature's guidance, you will have +9% to hit. So when you are putting pieces of gear together, + to hit isn't as necessary as say STR or AP.

I think dual wielding starts out with ~25% miss chance, so the 9% from talents doesn't go as far as you might think.

Level 70 enhance shamans only need around 90 hit rating (little over 5% to hit) if they have max dual-wield spec and max nature's guidance.

Non-raiding:
Spells - 4% (5% resist rate, always 1% resist)
Non-dual-wield - 5%
Dual wield - 25%
Melee special attacks - 5%

Raiding:
Spells - 16% (17% resist rate)
Non-dual-wield - 9%, and then smack yourself for using a 2-hander in raids
Dual wield - 28%
Melee specials - 9%

None of that's including the talents. It takes 12.6 spell hit to equal 1%, and 15.78 melee hit to equal 1%.

It's crucial to get melee specials capped in all situations, which should be easily with talents. For dual-wielding, you only *need* enough to cap the specials, with some extra picked up on gear helping but with strength and crit both generally taking priority. As said, aiming for about 100 rating in addition to 9% from talents is a good mark.
Spells should be at the cap if you intend on raiding (which is pretty easy).
