problem with lvl 48 WarriorFollow

#1 Feb 05 2008 at 9:26 PM Rating: Decent
First of all, I would like thank the admins for such a good website where it has good discussions in regards of the game, and good mannered replies from all the members.

I play in Aman'thul US server the name is Brnphenom (phenom for short)

as the title says above I have a major problem with my warrior (specd Fury)

In the past few weeks I have been slow in lvling up coz two of my friends(warriors) has joined the game and I am waiting for them to lvl up now one of them is 46 and the other is 47, another warlock lvl 63...

when we go to instance, lets say maraduan, against several of 45 elite trees, they somehow deal alot of damage on me and takes out my health instantly while my friends health dont even go less than 50%, I was specd in arms and I didnt have enough rage, now I am all in fury, and yet the problem remains even with my rage up(but not for long) the rage also goes down instantly.

it must be somthing I am doing wrong ?!!? I have a decent gear on me I wanted to link you my character but I left the game with festival custom on in SW lol...but you guys check on later when I logg in to check my armor and all the details that my warrior has.

again my problem is I die quickly...not only that a grey lvl elites in scarlet one of them actually can take about 50% of my health and he's GREY LVL!?!? my weapon is blue item enchanted with demon slaying I for got the name though it's a 2h sword speed 2.90 dps 38.5

Are you tanking or are you DPSing? Are you using a 2H, a 1H, or DW? Why don't you have Flurry? The armor I can see is passable ... you shouldn't be THAT squishy, unless you're popping WW off the bat and pulling hate on 4 mobs. Or if you're trying to tank Mara at 45 without a shield in a PUG.

Could you give a little more specific info?

One thing is I would move some points around, check out the 17/44 build starting out with the straight fury, which you have, but some points are questionable, at least to me. But I dont think thats really your issue. I noticed the Imp berserker rage which makes me wonder if you are in berserker stance all the time. With your lower crit chance and minimum gear for agility, which is good, you want str and stam, but you also take alot more dmge for an increase of only 3% in berserker stance. I use that stance when I stance dance for certain abilities.

Also, staying behind targets help alot and avoiding pulling aggro off the tank, as I surely hope you are not tanking with a furry spec, can be done OT in lower instance, but still might be a problem. Also as fury, you should be max DPS meaning two hander or DW - dual wield, with a sword and board and if you are bersker stance all the time, well that could be your problem in addition to pulling hate. Even with low levels as a say 31, I could take down a 35 pretty easily, well not EASILY, but still have a good bit of health left on melee and this is with DW, which is all I do, even though there is not real +hit until later levels, which you are coming on. WIth updated gear, and everything you have, you should be tearing trhough mobs pretty well without taking too much damage. I stic with Battle Stance, and even have my two hander AND shield on my toolbar to swap out and stance dance for certain abilities.

If youre in Battle stance most of the time, then try DW or a slow two hander instead of the sword and board. Again, I dont see with your low crit rate, a sword and board, that using berserker stance is as beneficial as battle stance for the most part.

DOnt think this is really contributing to yout problem, but if you are taking on multiple mobs when your issues arise, then I would also check wowwiki.com under fury talent builds as well as the faq here for fury builds, each have a couple talents interchanged, but they both have mostly the essentials, like flurry,

I use a 2H sword.. I am DPSing....

tabstopper

why don't you have Flurry?

What do you mean Flurry?

....

I'm not that aware of everything in wow...but this is what I know I have a decent armor and good specs on them with strength and stamina plus good weapons I got both 2H sword and 1H sword weilding both or with shield.

my concern is I lose lot of health and lot rage doesnt stick up for long time.

and if you mean that I use chanllging shout, nope I never use it unless I have good health and my friends needs help.

Nothing said about challenging shout, I said berserker stance, reread my post, it might be a little clearer, most time I stay in battle stance and only switch if I want to use an ability only accessible to that stance once some rage is generated, thus stance dancing, so it was more about your talents and your primary stance. In berserker you take more damage and could be why you are, and the little bit of crit wont give you big numbers, not with the low crit rate you have on your gear, so berserker is why.

I didn't level up my warrior as Fury...went straight Prot all the way to 65. So please excuse this question if I am way off base.

But shouldn't Fury warriors have a bit more AGI? It seems everything that he has equipped it straight STR and STA. Looks more like my tank gear when I was about that level. I understand that the OP is concerned about dying fast...but trying to tank AND dual wield dps is just asking for trouble. Seems to me that he should be trying to avoid taking damage and can therefore afford to bulk up his crit and dodge by mixing a little AGI into his gear.

And what is with that +12 dodge ring? Dump it for something that will give you some stats. The minimal increase to your already dismal dodge rate isn't worth taking up a ring slot. Same thing with the gun...the dps is nice but it gives you zero stats. You don't shoot often enough for the dps to be useful. So aim for something with some stats...even if the dps drops.

I think you will see a massive boost in survivability once you hit your mid 50's or so. Just keep at it.

Again...I leveled as Prot. So maybe my advice is a little off.
