Uh...MAP doesn't matter for hunters, except for jousts. Thus 1 agi = 1 AP, as far as AP goes.
There are other things about agility that you need to factor in:
1) Agility also gives 0.025% crit, or 40 agility per 1% crit. Which means 40 agility = 40 AP + 22 crit rating, which is 42 itemization points (combat rating is value 1, agility value 1, AP value 0.5). AP + crit is better on gear, agility is better on enchants or gems, since you get more total stats by having multiple stats on gear.
2) SV hunters benefit more from agility. First, you get 15% bonus. Thus, 40 agility = 46 AP and 1.15% crit chance, the item worth of 46 AP and 25-26ish crit rating. Then factor in expose weakness as a 25% increase in AP from agi (once your crit chance is high enough it should be on most of the time) and you get 40 agility as 57-58 AP and 25-26 crit rating. That's a lot more. However, for a non-SV hunter, it's simpler.
Aethien's guide at the top has more info on when to get agility, when to get crit, and when to get AP. I also have a system, where I value agility as 5 points, and AP as 3 points. Thus 14 agi = 23-24 AP (on my system).
