okay now i know that this sounds kinda crazy but I made a shaman as a class to be someone with fair to awesome melee ability with range that makes people look and the ability to throw in a couple heals when needed and i am wondering should i have just made a warrior/hunter then given him the first-aid ability also i know this sounds crazy but my plan for getting gear when i hit outland is to get at least half of my dungeon set then use that to get the full pvp set from there raid my way into tier six and hopefully wont be laughed at because i want to make an enchant/elemental build for endgame
PS i am also a level 38 troll shaman who has never had a toon of that high of a level before and i am wondering on good ways to make gold to get a mount

I am wondering though if I should have just made a warrior/hunter and trained in first-aid.

First off, punctuation and spaces are your friend.... FTFY

Secondly, you could have made a warrior or hunter, but if you try to heal someone with a bandage while they're in combat, it'll just void it all together. So you'll basically waste a bandage and the other person's ability to bandage themselves when they're done fighting (due to the cooldown).

The only suggestion I can make with the limited amount of information that you have given us, in regards to making money for your mount, is to quest like crazy and sell the stuff you don't need.

Depending on your professions as well, if you're a gatherer, sell the mats on the AH by seeing what others are charging for them.

Not really sure what the question is here. I'm having trouble figuring out what kind of role you want to be able to play. Warriors and hunters generally have VERY different roles in a group and generally are played very differently whether grouped or solo. Oh, and neither plays very much like a shaman.

Nocturnal's point about trying to heal others w/ bandages is entirely correct. Bandages are not for combat healing. They are intended to patch up after the fight.

On the question of how to make money - read all the other threads/stickies around about making money. There are probably more threads related to that than just about all the other topics combined. To sum up - gather like crazy and sell on AH, run through low-lvl instances and sell the drops.

When all else fails stand in the middle of the major city of your choice naked and dance while begging for loose change.

Snardo, I think they're looking for a class where they can melee pretty well, along with having range attacks and the ability to heal... Not 100% sure though

Sounds like he wants a hybrid class.

To original poster:
Shaman can melee quite well as Enhancement, And with some points in Restoration you can heal somewhat well too. However as for ranged abilities its all spells. Not bows, or guns, or throwing weapons.

For getting money for your mount, I suggest low level instance farming. Depending on what instance you farm and what drops from it you can make decent money in a fairly short amount of time at level 40 (providing you have no gathering professions of need that materials for a complimenting profession). I farmed Deadmines as the wool sells for 3g a stack, and I can usually get 4-6 stacks per clear, also any defias gear drops sel good as I am on Horde, and its Alliance armor.

For getting your endgame gear I don't have much to recommend. I'm not to outlands quite yet.

I think it would be prudent to point out that he also won't be spellcasting and meleeing at the same time no matter which of the three Shaman specs he pursues. And for that matter, there's really not a class in the game that will both range and melee interchangably unless forced to do so by an opponent as it's usually disadvantageous for them one way or the other.

Hunters come closest, but given a choice between melee and ranged they're still going to pick ranged every time.

Clarification I can give up the ability to heal. I just want to have the ability to have good melee dps and then start moving back and shoot off a couple ranged somethings
