So I did Heroic Mana-tombs last night. We wiped multiple times on this boss and I just couldn't see why, as I'd one shot him a few nights before easily. I have no shadow resist, so I'm sure that has something to do with it, but I didn't the first time either and we had a priest healer.
We finally downed the boss by bringing in another healer. Two raid geared healers.
Some questions: does Thorns proc his reflection move? How about the Darkmoon Card: Vengeance proc?
Cloth shadow resist gear would be just as effective as leather shadow resist too, right? Are my best bets for shadow resist green AH shadow resist stuff?
I want the last boss' leggings.

The problem didn't have to be just you, maybe the DPSers weren't bringing enough smack to the table.
Ehh.. not really, IMO (I can be wrong), your base stats are always important, but if you feel you must have +Shadow Resist gear, then don't go overboard and relinquish a vast majority of your base stats for Shadow Resist gear.

What you should do on Panda, always.
no, thorns or furies trinket. always turn off attack when he goes into banish phase, during that stage run away from him and don't let him melee you. Charge when he is out of banish. rinse repeat.

Sounds solid. So you don't think that the shadow resist is that much of an issue?
I usually one shot him(I got 0 Shadow resist). This is pugs.
If Thorns and Vengeance do count as attacks and return damage, I'm sure that is a major contributor to my downfall. I'll check it out when I go back, as I really want those leggings for multiple reasons (kitty dps, pvp, and trash tanking).
I haven't done him in a while, but I remember SR being a huge deal when I tried it. Nearly every heroic has been nerfed since then, though. The advice given was solid - don't autoattack yourself to death, run away, etc. I'd be incredibly suprised if Thorns was the problem, though - reflected damage usually doesn't trigger anything.

Thorns matters. Make sure it's not up.
ABSOLUTELY no one touch him when he shifts phase. Hammer esc till you see the options menu when he shifts.
Elustriel got it on the nose (see above post)

edit: Tank him with yer back to the wall and everyone else off to the side with their backs in a corner so everyone doesnt get booted a mile away when he does the big aoe knockback.
