Whats your spec and why?Follow

#1 Feb 03 2008 at 3:49 AM Rating: Default
Okay this is not a "rate my spec" or a "questions about my spec" thread. Its just simply put your spec and why you love it.

I'm only level 56, but im 5/41/0. Combat swords, just for the simplicity of leveling. It's by far the most boring spec, but it gets the job done with ease.

Combat Maces, because it does good (not great) in both PvE and PvP.

Shadowstep/Vile for PvP - Because combat and mutilate suck with all the target switching required in larger arenas. That, and massive bleeds + 2 evasions + cheat death executes makes me so happy inside.

Combat Maces/Vile for PvE (wish I could go swords) - Because everything else sucks for PvE

Harp still, because I like always having cooldowns up on the long road of BG grinding.

Now we're going to play a game called, "Who is your daddy, and what does he do?"

Combat swords from 10 to 54 at present. Because I'm lazy and it is very efficient leveling and soloing. No intent to change it until I see something better.

I'm currently Mutilate specced, 41/0/7 or something like that. Level 57, and I didn't feel Combat Swords was all that great, but that might've had something to do with my weapons being Phantom Blade and like, Shadowblade as I didn't find a good offhand sword.

Specced Mutilate, got myself two Outlands daggers with 1.80 speed, wow. 1k Mutilate crits, Eviscerate crits like 1.5k constantly. It actually requires playing the Rogue, other than mashing SS :)

Have been combat swords pretty much the whole time. I guess I just never got into maces or daggers with my rogue.

Shadowstep Ambush because I love taking a mob my level to half life with one crit opener. It's a fun spec for soloing quests and grinding but having ventured into a few instances, I can see it is weak for group play so I am seriously considering trying out Shadowstep Hemo Swords once I find a good slow sword to work with.

My Rogue is my fun alt so I relish using all the tricky things Rogues can do even if it means I don't have the optimal spec for leveling and max DPS. If I decide to have my Rogue get into the end-game gearing up I will probably switch to one of the conventional raiding specs.

20/41/0 Combat Fists for Raiding. Shadowstep for PvP

I regret buying S3 maces, since they're so fugly. I should have gone with swords... would have been better in pvp (19/42) and I don't even pvp with specs that have weapon spec anymore (30/0/31 or 20/0/41).

Curious as to whether you picked up Seal fate in that or not. I can think of lots of useful goodies that can help without SF.

I never tried 30/0/31 as it stands now, although I did rock the old-school 21/8/22 back in the day for a while.

I was always a fan of AR/Prep, even before the Hemo buff I was using it (although with SS instead of Hemo) for arenas.

Then again I tried just about everything & spent vast amounts of gold on different specs. Like I found that Mutilate was pretty much unparalleled in Black Morass since it was entirely tank & spank & positioning was a non-issue.

This is what I go with.

I have no idea how viable (or not) the spec would be in any other situation, but I personally use in 3s. Where we go Warrior/Rogue/Priest.

The idea is to get a premed-cheapshot into a 5 point imp EA as fast as possible and auto-gimp one of their dps. My dps is a lot weaker then it is in combat, but it doesn't really matter, since this spec is all about taking advantage of the arms warrior's disgusting burst (even more so when paired with imp EA and Hemo). Seal Fate/Hemo means fast combo point, so I can KS with ease... once he gets in Dirty Deed range, I do a 5 point Cold Blood Evis which take him into Execute range and wham, good night, thank you mam.

The warrior is a wrecking ball, I'm the guy who paints the X on the wall. It works pretty good.

My spec? Prot of course (holy ain't for me)... oh... wait... which forum am I in?

Combat swords for 5-mans mainly to keep my spot in instance runs and (soon) raids. I do near zero pvp with this rogue, if I did I'd go ShS for the fun.

I've been told by several guildies that other specs are generally passed over for the ever-so-competitive DPS raid spots. Face it, there are just more DPSers out there than healers or tanks and if you want to stand out in the crowd, you better be top of the heap. In the case of rogues, it's efficient combat damage that does it.

And, hell. It's fun to destroy the damage meters and burn down baddies at a cruel and unusual pace.

Leveling Mutilate/Sub until 70 and then Mutilate/Combat for raiding. I love the playstyle.

I don't do much on my rogue right now other than BG, Arena, and dailies. My guild needs more 70s to progress any further and I have yet to get anything other than "OMG you're a DPS Machine!" comments about my spec/gear/playstyle in heroic PuGs. I use both swords and daggers. I like to open with ShS Ambush then macro to swords. It's fun. Combat is too boring and just doesn't excite me. Once we get back to progression, IF the raid requires it then I Will do what' best for my guild and respec *shudder* combat. At that point I may quit rogue. Until then, I like my spec.

I am a similar spec right now, 5/15/41, Using swords exclusively.

It's fun, I like the mobility of ShS as well as root breaking sprintx2 and the other advantages of having prep.

I played it this weekend in some BGs and our Arena matches. I definately had some times where the well times ShS saved my ***.

subtlety for SURPRISE BUTTSECKS!

Actually I'm non-dagger sub. Using a fist mainhand right now because it was the best slow weapon I could find at the moment.
