Switching Talents - Save money or no?Follow

#1 Feb 02 2008 at 11:34 PM Rating: Decent
I'm considering of switching my level 50 Arms Warrior to a DW Fury Warrior.

I currently have about 300g. I was wondering if I should stock up on a few blues such as weapons or should I stay with whatever I find as most commonly greens. Because I don't think I'll be tanking anytime soon so my demand for Instances will be quite low. I plan to get to 59 before I start doing some PVP and getting gear. For now, I just want to level PVE.

Thoughts?

Might want to wait the last few levels when you get to outlands with the uber greens there. Helps with the addition of more +hit which helps a GREAT deal with DW. With that being said, if you feel inclined to DW fury right away, just pick up some greens or blues from any instancing for the last few levels. DW fury, even low levels without +hit gear, for me is a blast, havent had really any problems either. Many dont like all the misses, but the mobs still go down quite fast, even moreso at your level as I think there are some +hit around your level too.

So just pick up some greens from AH, or craft some if you are BS, I think BS has some blue designs, cant remember, and just switch. Or just wait 8 more levels, then switch where most of the first quests get you pretty geared up, not to mention the wonderful drops out there.

Edit:

Ok, my bad, you are switching, saving the money will go a long way for the epic mount, - around 800 gold, so I would just go with what I said above and just grab cheapies if you can or if you know someone that can add enchants for next to nothing, ie a guildmate, then do that. I wouldnt go hog wild on gear, youre gonna get great gear soon enough. But dont gimp yourself too much by not doing anything at all, greens will be fine.

Agree with most of the other post.

I wouldnt buy I thing. I swapped from arms to DW fury at lvl 50 and just went with the gear I found on quests and instances etc.

Yes you do miss a bit, but I mainly solo and never had many problems.

I just went to warrior training and changed my talents from arms to full fury. 41 points into fury tree, then rest going into arms.

Its great fun and as stated once you hit 58 and goto Outlands, the gear stepup is amazing, also money will just boost too.

Its automatic, 1st few quests I did from Honor Hold I was like "wow" couldnt wait to do the quest, get the reward and wear it. Even struggled as to which weapons to use as I had like 4 really weapons (in comparision to what I previously had)

I did spend a little money (think its 31 gold) buying the Footmans sword from Honor Hold once my rep was good enough. Really like this sword.

So to sum up, dont spend your money.
Swap to DW
Change your talent build to Fury
Get used to what your using now instead of arms, (slam BT etc)
Most of all have alot of fun with DW, it really can be very exciting at times and yes you will die alot :)

Ps one thing I did in Outlands was once I hit 60 I bought the 100% horse. Costs alot but felt it was important in Outlands (still not sure if that was a good or bad move)

Good luck

Also, if you're gonna PVP some, save that honor and marks, as the 60 PVP sets will only last you til around lvl 64-65.

That's what I did on my warrior and it seemed to work out great: waited til I'd done a bunch of Outlands quests and finally got a sizable amount of +hit gear before going Dual Wield.

But to be fair, I never tried DW prior to that - I simply assumed that without +hit gear it wasn't as solid a choice because such a large portion of your DPS would be lost to Misses.
