Abandon the str/stam and agi/stam gems, they're not made for tanking. If you really want those set bonuses go with gems really suited to tanking, like def/stam, or doge and parry gems. If the set bonus is crap, which is most of the time, just stack stam in those slots. You'll get more out of it. Str and agi aren't focus stats for tanks. Str belongs to fury, and agi isn't something a warrior should ever really LOOK for in gear, aside from a few select enchants.

IMO you should stack stam 100% of the time, unless you have a certain area on farm. Then you should wear some dps type gear, and stack it with avoidance and hit rating.

That's what I do for gemming for the most part. I'm firmly in the AC/Stam camp of tanking, but as content goes into the territory of farm, or for certain other situations, threat and avoidance gear is good to put on to make for more efficient healing.

Well, we managed to down Maiden today. Missed out on the gauntlets, though, because we have another warrior that's been made the MT. Oh well. Kinda boring being OT. It's probably time to start running heroics to gear up better.

Got our butts handed to us on the Wizard of Oz opera event. lol Kara's pretty cool, though, and I think once we learn it, we'll get through faster. Gonna go for Curator tomorrow.

Tell them boo to MT gearing. Horribly flawed system that creates too much reliance on one person. Spread that loot around. OT can be fun. I personally get a bit bored as an MT at times, because everything is fairly predictable. Hold boss, keep debuffs up, spank for optimal threat. There are some changes, occasionally, but it's generally not large ones. Different details, same game. OTing generally seems to have a bit more variety in it.

Wizard of Oz is tough. We wiped quite a few times before we finally got it down. When we did get it down the strategy we used was:

Dorothy - Nobody tanks her. Her aggro is random anyway. She is burned down as quickly as possible, and is the first kill. Feel free to go balls to the wall on DPS, as clothies don't have to worry about taking aggro (they will take aggro anyway since it's totally random).

Toto - The OT picks up Toto as soon as it spawns. Get ready to Intercept him and have some stored Rage for Shield Slam (or make sure Bloodrage is up). Toto is killed second, immediately after Dorothy.

Roar - The OT picks up Roar as soon as the event starts. Don't tank him though, just build enough threat so that he runs to the OT instead of the warlocks when fear breaks. On that note, the warlocks should be fear bombing him the whole fight. Roar is killed third, after Toto. Once you start fighting him for real (after Toto is dead), youll want to stop fear bombing him. He hits hard though, especially if you don't have many epics yet. Make sure the tanks keep you topped off.

Strawman - MT picks up Strawman as soon as the event starts. Similar to Roar though, just enough aggro so that he runs to the MT whenever his "CC" breaks. Killed 4th, after Roar. Until then, mages are using fire spells on him since they will disorient him. But not super strong fire spells, save those for Dorothy since you're trying to burn dorothy down fast. Spamming Fire spells on Strawman is a pretty effective form of CC though, since they have a very high chance to disorient him.

Tinman - MT picks up Tinman as soon as the event starts. For the first 2 minutes or so of the fight Tinman is straight tanked by the MT, with the MT pointing him into a corner (he uses a powerful Cleave). As he begins to rust, he will start moving slowly, then the MT starts kiting him around the room in a circle. Tinman is killed last.

Once we agreed on this plan we beat the event our first try without any deaths.

Oh, and the Crone I don't even know what we did. If you beat the first 4 the Crone pretty much is a joke. Just stick everyone on it and attack till it's dead.

I proposed exactly that strategy after getting rolled up twice by Dorothy and friends. It worked really well, but then Roar glitched and made it reset. I'm not sour grapes about not being MT, but it seemed like the other guy was having trouble making some adjustments. He didn't hold aggro on Tinman, and he didn't pick up Strawman either. Our mage wasn't keeping Strawman on fire either to debuff him. I think if everyone had stayed focused, we would have beaten it. Oh well. I chalk it all up to a learning experience.

Of course, all that talk, and no one even mentioned the Crone until I said something. lol

We've done Oz twice now and we hardly even try keeping aggro on Strawman and Roar until we're ready to take them down. I just tank Tinman away from everyone else because of the cleave and I don't even bother trying to kite him. We have the OT pick up the dog as soon as possible because he can rip up the healers really fast. The firemage uses fast cheap fire spells to keep Strawman confused without going OOM and the Lock uses Curse of Elements to reduce his resists. We go Dorothy, Tito, Strawman, Tinman and Roar.

The Crone is easy though it's a pain when both tanks get caught in the whirlwind while running to grab and tank her. LoL
