I am having trouble deciding on a build. I'm only 44 right now but as I level I am finding new build ideas that I think would be fairly decent.

My Rogue is mainly going to be used for BGs>PvE>Arena. I doubt I'll be raiding on this character. If I do, it will be so rarely it won't be worth respeccing for.

11/26/24

0/34/27

16/41/4

Also, I keep hearing of a HARP build but can't find a link to it anywhere and can only think of Hemo, AR and Prep. I have also heard the hemo nerf killed this build. If it's still a viable option, could someone provide a link? Assuming it is Hemo, AR and Prep, how far off is my 0/34/27 build?

Just curious as to which of these builds would be more viable for my needs and where the holes/wasted points are.

The HARP build was 31/30 and a lot of rogues still use it in arena.

If you don't plan to seriously do arena, any 17/44, 19/42, or 20/41 combat build will do fine for what you want to do.

Maces are best for PVP, swords are best for PVE.

The tri-spec hybrid you linked is mainly a high end raiding spec, and will be outdamaged by combat swords in the long run.

The 4 points you have in subtlety in the 3rd build would be better spen in either assassination or combat, but probably in Vile Poisons.

Edit: Elementhuman is correct. A cookie-cutter combat spec really doesn't do as well in BGs as a lot of other specs. A lot of people use a shadowstep build for BG grinding right when they ding 70. If you do plan to do arenas and some PVE as well as grinding BGs, combat maces (20/41) will most likely be your best bet.

Since you are doing BGs mostly, just play around with builds and find one that suits your style for your particular BG.

There is no "BEST" build for BGs because BG PvP isn't really that hard.

That said, you can go 41/3/17 Mutilate (20 combat isn't really worth it in BGs), does well in both BGs and PvE 5mans.

You could go x/x/42 Sub or some other deep Sub variant.

Combat I do not like (over the other builds) because in the chaos that is BGs, AR/Bfury really isn't all that.

HARP is a lot weaker than it was pre 2.3.2. Prep doesn't reset AR anymore, which represents a loss of thousands in damage over a few seconds. Full combat is stronger now, and full sub -although weaker in damage- might be stronger too as far as mobility.

The best pvp specs right now seem to be combat maces, mutilate, and shadowstep.

Is Master of Deception and Camouflage insignificant enough to completely avoid in a PvP build? Maybe I am just seriously overestimating the bonuses from MoD.

As far as arena, I plan on doing it on my Rogue but how serious that becomes depends on the commitment required from my Warlock.

I am having a lot of fun with maces right now and the added mace procs seem to be a life saver at times. They tend to make the difference between a solid stunlock and a scramble to regain control and finish off a non clothie. They just tend to land right when I need them to.

I assume the HARP build is considered more for Arena then BGs because of the cooldowns but I would like to test it out if someone could provide a link please.
