Why not Imp. Conc?Follow

To me it seems like Improved Concussive would be more useful than either Efficiency or Improved Mark. Now my last hunter was MM spec but this was pre-TBC, and I'm debating between MM or BM for this new one (I'm coming back after a 2 year break).

Obviously this will be pre-70, and while I plan on dabbling in a little BG and will be playing on a PvP server, most of what I'm going to be doing is soloing and instances. I know my end-game spec already.

Basically I'm asking why nobody seems to get Imp. Concussive, even in PvE it seems like it'd be handy and I remember using Conc a lot if my pet dies or if I get adds. Is it not as effective as it sounds? Does 20% just not proc as often as it seems?

If I spec'd BM, Imp. HMark would help my pet's damage, right? So is that an obvious choice if I decide to go BM? And maybe Imp Conc if I go MM? Or would Efficiency for mana problems be more helpful to a MM spec?

It's skipped because Go for the throat and Rapid Killing are both much more useful than it. Go for the throat adds a lot of extra DPS to your pet, and 2 mins less CD on Rapid Fire really, really adds up in longer fights.

As well as Mortal Strikes is extremely more useful for DPS.

And then Efficiency/IHM are also both key to raiding, whichever one is picked...Boss fights get longer, and longer as you progress, and both of these are long term talents. Personally I think the buff for IMH isn't worth 5 points, efficiency makes your shots cost less mana, letting you fire more off.

It's not really that its a *bad* talent, it does have its uses, but there are much more better options. for a BM/SV build, especially for raiding.

MM really isn't seen very much as all anymore for raiding because BM and SV pump out soo much more DPS. For PvP though, it's fantastic.

From my experiences with Improves Concussive it's not that great. It doesn't seem proc enough and there are better options. BM for leveling is usually considered the best route, though MM does have it's strengths. IHM would make more sense just for the fact that you will eventually have to get up close and personal and extra damage is always welcome.

I believe the question at hand is what is best for leveling, not raiding. What you are saying may be great for raiding but for leveling I don't know how many long fights Riven will get into. BM, MM and a little Survival for leveling and pvping will be the "more better" route IMHO.

True, I guess i misread >_> In that case IHM would probbaly better than efficiency for leveling, I'd also go all BM. I've tried leveling with MM before and my pet dies quickly and I steal aggro off of it a lot. >_> But thats just me.

Either way I dont think imp. conc is worth the points.

no... effi = less downtime, ihm = a tiny wee faster grind BUT you don't make up for the downtime...
effi IS better, period.
