Hejsan

I need help with a macro.

I want it to do "Riposte" if possible, and sinister strike if not. But for some reason i cant :(

I tried:
/cast riposte
/cast sinister strike

Why doesnt this work? :S Cause they have the same "cd"?

I use it for my hunter where is have raptor strike and wing clip on the same. is that because it is "on next hit" and the other is an instant attack?

Cheers for helping out. You rock!

/castsequence riposte, sinister strike

although you will have to spam it to get SS to go off.

You might be able to use a /castrandom macro as well, but I'm not sure if it would do exactly what you are looking for.

the /castrandom method is a cheap way of bypassing it, buggy

/cast Riposte
/cast Sinister Strike

should work but you'll hear the annoying not ready over and over again

/castsequence with a reset parameter is buggy and you can get locked into riposte due to lag easily

Basically there is no really easy/smooth way of doing it with just one button due to either lag or the annoying UI reminders.

The Hunter one works because neither Raptor or Wing Clip is dependent on a condition other than melee range.

My advice to you just bind your Riposte to a separate key.

You should consider adding the [reset=X] modifier to /castsequence because if one ability doesn't go off (for any reason) it can stick the macro and won't go to the next ability in order. "X" is in number of seconds. Most people use 8-10 but experiment with it.

Probably not as much a problem with this sample. But why not be sure?

I don't think /castsequence is all that much better and know of no way to do what you want to do. Blizz doesn't like any "if..then" in the macro system. I would suggest using something like the following and watching the scrolling text more carefully:

/cast [modifier:shift] Riposte; Sinister Strike

This will run SS unless you're also holding the Shift key. You can replace "shift" as you see fit.
