Blessing of ProtectionFollow

Simple Question, does blessing of protection (BoP) wipe threat like Divine Shield does?

In melee cases, I guess I wouldn't call it an "aggro wipe" like bosses sometimes do after special attacks, more like a "cease fire." They move to the next target, and if your BoP wears off and you still technically have "aggro" they will come back to you, I believe.

I guess the only situation that I would not know would be if it is a caster and the BoP is unaffective (only shields white damage). That situation I would not know, otherwise yes.

It DOES NOT wipe threat.

The boss merely goes after the person with the next highest threat. So if you are bad enough to need a BOP you better hope your tank is good enough to re-establish aggro before the 10 seconds are up.

also, it will not work if the mobs dont have at least 1 melee attack in their list of attacks. this is a pretty rare occerance, but keep you eyes open when dealing with imps, and some welplings.

Edit: also like Bodh said, but to clearify. NEITHER BoP or Devine Shield is a true agro wipe, you will get your agro lvl back upon expiration of the buff.

This is very true.

BoP and Divine Shield, as stated, do not drop threat at all.

Furthermore.. you can continue to build threat while under BoP. You aren't removed from the table, the mob just notices that it can't do anything to you and moves on to someone that it can. Had you been "removed" from the table for the duration of the buff, you couldn't continue to gain more threat.

Also.. remember to re-bless people that you BoP after it's done.. It'd suck to forget to Salvation someone and have them pull aggro AGAIN.

Casters can continue to gain threat under BoP. Physical attacks are prevented by BoP, so melee really can't gain threat (unless they have some sort of DoT or bleed effect going).
