Sup, haven't done much posting in the pally forums yet. Since getting to OL and a getting a few levels I figured I may as well start.
I think I am doing things right, I am prot, have been stacking Sta, +spell damage, stuff like that. I have very little problems tanking the low level OL instances thus far. I am open to suggestions as to what I need to change on my way to 70. Also, I didnt see it anywhere, what is the optimum value for spell damage?

Doesn't look too bad for 64. As you get higher you will want to focus more on your defense and avoidance stats than your spell damage. At 70, around 200 Spell Damage give or take is what you're going to shoot for.

As you get closer to 70, armor with more armor and avoidance is better than armor with spell damage, because you will get virtually all the spell damage you need from your caster weapon.
I'm using the Season 2 gavel with 229 spell damage + 40 spell enchant, which is more than enough spell damage.

As you get closer and closer to 70 instances, you will notice that you have get that Def rating up. Where you are now, its easy to just get spell damage and stam. When you get to SL, Mech and even Arc, crits will really start to hurt.
As you go up, slowly replace your gear with +def and avoidance. By they time you hit 70, life will be great.
