My guild is preparing to start running Gruul's Lair, and I just found out that the first run is tonight. I already know I'm gonna be asked to tank Kiggler the Crazed, being a Moonkin. I've already looked at his Wowwiki entry and it seems manageable, but I'm still having doubts, never having seen the fight. I was just wanting to ask ahead of time about some of my numbers...

Fully raid buffed (except for Blood Pact) I have around 9300 health, and I think roughly the same amount of mana, maybe a bit more. My mana regen while not casting is over 300 (I've seen it as high as 373 with Blessing of Wisdom), and I'm not sure what it is while casting (but I seldom go OOM). I'm pushing just shy of 10k armor (although I suspect that won't mean much), with 33 Arcane resistance and 43 Nature resistance. I also have a very large supply of mats readily available for Nature and Arcane Protection Potions.

Will I likely be good to go with these numbers, or should I try to find some last-minute Stam gear and prepare to hear my name over vent as the idiot who can't control his target? (My Armory profile is in my sig if you wish to see it.)

Your stats should be fine. Having a moonkin tanking is much simpler than having two hunter do it.

Just make sure you know where they want you to pull him. It's important that his AoE damage is away from the raid. Other than that as long as you have a threat meter, you can probably go fairly easy on your mana usage as you only have to stay above the healers in threat.

Good luck with it. The hardest part of the fight is the pull and positioning mobs where AoE's won't kill the raid. Once you get the hang of it, the fight becomes quite simple. Gruul is another story :)

Just tanked Kiggler for the first time yesterday :D

My health/mana were slightly lower than yours, and raidbuffed I was at 930 +dmg, did not have any problems with him.

Just make sure you activate your trinkets/cooldowns right after he does the knockback/agrodump,to ensure you get agro back fast. (he usually goes after the healers then ;))

Oh,and make sure you stay out of his meleerange :D thats when he really starts hurting ;)

Okay, so make sure I get the pull right, and pop my good stuff when he does the knockback. Seems simple enough. Thanks for the info guys. Didn't get to go last night because our MT got wife aggro lasting an inordinately long time, but tonight we plan to go in and shake down the house.
