My warlock alt (UA-spec) is starting to collect kara-level gear and so far I'm up to 10.8% hit, so how many points do I need in suppression? Someone said I didn't need more than 3, but I'd like a confirmation.

they are right you need a total of 16% +spellhit so with your 10% +6% comming from surpression your Afflictionspells and only your afflictionspells will be at hitcap.
In a decent Afflictionspec, which is played as intended still around 50% of your
damage will come from Shadowbolts which come from the destruction-tree, and the talent surpression has no effect on these.

Therefore i´d advise you collect more +hitgear along the way.

Definitely no points, unless there's absolutely nothing else to take in your raid build. You'll want to be properly hit-capped for both Destruction and Affliction as soon as possible, at which point Suppression is useless. You're better off taking something in Demonology or Destruction if you're out of useful talents in Affliction. While you're building up Spell Hit, leave some points in, by all means (it's very difficult to get properly capped without going into Karazhan), but take them out as they become obsolete (ie: at 10% Hit, 3/5 Suppression caps your Affliction spells, at 12%, 2/5, and at 14%, 1/5)
