We're clearing before first boss in hellfire citadel - ramparts. We get a double group from our pally tank's body pull on a single patrolling mob. It was suppose to get just 1 mob, but I guess they were linked or the mob did a /yell. Anyway, it's a wipe.

Then the hunter says stuff like "paladins shouldn't pull" blah, blah, blah... "turn off righteous fury"

what?!?! i believe he thought righteous fury increased the tanks aggro radius. he asked twice for our paladin tank to turn of righteous fury, plus he insisted we let him do the pull.

hunter pulls the same patrolling mob. we get the same double-group. this time i'm ready: chain heals on just the tank / potion / more chain heals. the hunter (unfortunately) pulls through it with just a sliver of life (<100 health). all the while i'm spamming gheal on the tank, he's barking in chat "heal me!"

we live through it, but i couldn't help but taunt the hunter like "ya, that was a much better pull" and he leaves group just in time to miss by "hunter, turn of your fighteous fury!" comment.

about 10 min later, the tankadin and i each get a whisper from Huntard: "NOOB". i reply with "TURN OFF RIGHTEOUS FURY! LOL" only to discovered:

You are being ignored by <huntard>.

This is the first person I've known to put me on their ignore list (I've been playing for over a year).

So far aspiring huntards, remember:
1. Tanks shouldn't pull.
2. If you spot Righteous Fury on your tankadin, remind him to remove it. (sometimes he forgets it's there!)
3. On double pulls, it's more important to keep you standing than the tank.
4. When the healer is under the most danger of going /oom, remind him/her to heal you too. Using all caps is a plus.

Haha yeah hunters used to to give me the most headaches (I say used to cos I never run pugs anymore). Since they can solo basically everything in the game they tend to have sub-par grouping skills. Not all of them, but I'd say its a large percentage of them.

But well played hunters are a godsend for a paladin tank since they can have a hard time pulling mobs out of groups. A hunter using misdirect, distracting shot, and a trap can make things go much easier for a pally tank.

Obviously you weren't blessed with one of those hunters.

But if you want to hear an even worse story I got one for ya: I present the tale of the ultimate ninja. (I wasn't there I heard this second hand).

My friend was playing her alt the other day a 62 Holy Pally and was healing Ramps. They get all the way through the fight and one guy was there JUST to kill the last dragon boss and get his head for that quest. Anyhow. The tank apparently was a moronic *** the whole time and it took em a few attempts but they finally downed the dragon dude. At which point the warrior who was group leader, immediately kicked everyone out of the group. The guy there to get the dragon's head couldn't loot it, and only he had access to the chest where the loot piece is. What a friendly dude huh?

if you attacked the boss when u was in the party u can still loot him and have access to teh chest as they are linked.

still that tank was a bit out of order, not as bad as a rogue putting loot to master loot jsut before we attack eranikus, then ninjaing dragons call =/

Hey guys.
I was browsing these forums because I am now levelling a Draenei Priest alt, my main being a Dwarf Hunter.
I LOL'd at the story, and also have a lil story of my own from Ramparts (not related to Priests, but it was with a Pally tank)

The pally was a couple of lvls lower than me. We were progressing pretty quick through the pulls leading up to the bosses (thanks to a very good resto Shaman). He would almost always mark a mob for me to trap. And that's where the trouble started.
I was finding it near-on impossible to get the attention of the marked mob for trapping. I was thinking that Pally's must have an amazing ability to hold agro on all mobs (not just the skull mob).
Long after the run, I had a sudden forehead-slapping realisation: I never once dispelled the blessing of salvation he was casting on everybody.
With his Righteoud fury and my Blessing of Salvation, my best attempts to tear agro weren't even going above his consecrations.
I felt very noobish indeed.

Anyway, to keep it on the topic of Priests (being the Priest forum and all)
Another observation of noobish behaviour:
I was in a grp for one of the lower instances, ZF i think it was, as my hunter.
It seemed to be that every second pull would get all messed up because the Priest would over-heal, draw agro on 1, sometimes 2 mobs, and obviously panic at this, and start attacking the mobs now beating down on him. This makes it VERY difficult for the tank (or my pet) to draw agro away. He might have been new to grouping, but I didn't once see a Fade go off, or a help message, or even a run towards the tank.
Progress was slow on that run.
