http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?2480437 this is my friend and he thinks he is the best holy pally or every lived cuz he was killing 70's at lv 64. I have tried to tell him that there are better class specific items for a pally but he thinks the cloth gives better stats.

true or false? I think his ego his WAY to big.

It aint that bad. His crit is slightly low for his gear progression as well as his mp5 which is even lower. He also is wasting 51 points in spirit which he could be having in other stats.

So... no, he isn't the best Paly ever, I'm sure both Dil and Bodh would wipe the floor with him in a healing war.

I think it's common for people to think that because they top meters in kara, they are awesome. I know I did at first.

Then they run a pug, clear kara in 3 hrs, and realize they weren't in the minor leagues before, they were in the JV high school team.

All that cloth, leather, and mail makes me sad. The trinkets are awful. The +heal, even with some kara epics, is less than I had the first day I stepped foot in kara.

The spec isn't bad, but that point in anticipation, and the one in benediction are head scratchers (to me).

She could fix a lot of her problems if she spent some cash on enchants, but seriously, the cloth has got to go.

considering my crappily geared pally had 1450 healing i would vote "crapy". Its good enough for kara/heroics though i guess.

edit: oh read the post above mine and armory wont work for my computer so scratch that i bet.

On the topic of wearing sub-plate: I recently had to post in the priest forums on the same subject when a priest was QQing about a paladin rolling on cloth healing gear. I don't know about the rest of you, but I couldn't find a single piece of plate while leveling that had stats remotely useful to a healer, so when I was asked to heal for a group I ended up wearing all cloth. The same thing happened when I was trying to quickly get gear for Kara. At the time I was wearing a lot of damage/healing gear and I was trying to convert everything to plain healing gear, so I was taking everything I came across. I know for a fact I used the cloth gloves from botanica before I got the ones from Heroic Ramparts. I also either used cloth or leather boots for a good long while. If you need healer stats, take what you can get, but be aware that you need to replace those pieces as soon as you can.

On the subject of your friend: His gear right now honestly isn't that bad. I'd change the ribbon (as I've said many times, its been bad since they nerfed it), enchant his chest with mp5, change his bracer to mp5, switch his kara healing ring to something else, but his gear overall is pretty good, I don't see anything major.

Agreed. I had those epic leather gloves that LWs can make until I got my T4. I also had the leather tree druid shoulders from the 4th boss in Bot.

As a matter of fact, only last night did I replace the leather healing pants from Opera.

It's just rare to see so many cloth items as were in included in the original link, right next to so many Kara epics, particularly if the claim is that they feel they are the:
