How do YOU even use 6-9?

I have a good amount of left-hand agility from years of being abused by Adobe products and use my mouse for all movement, running included. It's easy for me to use control, shift, command, etc out of work habits. Which leaves my left available to hit keys. And on all of my toons I use the "=" key for the "holy crap I'm in a bad heap of trouble" button.

Thats a terrible macro [/castsequence] for PVP, learn to keybind.

I use that macro on my 'lock for pve grinding. Select target, petattack, dot x3/4, select new target.... also, adding the reset modifier to the macro helps if a spell doesn't apply for whatever reason. Perhaps it's not perfect, but it works for me.

I use a completely different toolbar setup (and spec) for pvp. Not that I currently do much pvp admittedly.

I did set up my mouse with all sorts of functions at one point. But after messing with it for a couple of weeks on my two current toons (rogue, pally), I went back to binding run/back to the mouse and leaving my left hand to abilities/spells. Just makes sense to my left-brain-right-brain way of thinking.

The best UI for rogue clickers arguably comes standard with the game and can be activated by pressing alt+z in the game itself.

You're awful at this game.

Seriously.

Clickers are ridiculously awful.

Why are you so negative? an experienced clicker can be just as good as a key-binder..

I leveled a rogue to 70 as a keyboard turning clicker rather easily. I also leveled a priest the same way to 70. On my rogue i was always top on damage in 5 mans and raids, but then i stopped raiding r/l crap time issues and statred doing pvp.

That being said heres where things start to get frustrating. I have all the welfare epics and s1 maces, i do ok in the bg's occasionally finishing on top of damage ect.. ok thing is 1 day i got totally raped by a rogue. He moved so fast and was just obviously not a kb turning button clicker and i recent ly started doing arena to and again same thing... somtimes i win and somtimes i lose and somtimes i get totally schooled. This is why i want to make an honest effort to go to using the mouse to turn and hit keys to attack.

I read the lesson thing for rogues and i understand to unbind my turn keys to force me to use mouse but when i go to bind lets say CS when stealthed to mmm button 4 then bind hemo to button 4 while unstealthed it unbinds the first 1. Dont get it maybe im special but do i need an add on or what?

Anyways i do find myself looking at the cursor alot making sure im hitting the right move and by doing so my target has either cc'd me or ran away.

I use the trackwheel mouse too has left right and middle mouse buttons and the red ball for thumb. Ive always used this kind of mouse so its what im used to i need advice to break this habit.

Do i get a new kind of mouse if so what kind? weird thing is when im not in combat and just running i hold down the right mouse button to turn more smooth so i understand how using the mouse is better i just need some advice.

Flame on >> it might help me

Just as the many posters have mentioned before... if you clickers want to be more efficient at the game, keybinding is the way to go.

The best way to move around is by using the mouse (with the exception of the right-mouse button + strafe keys), and there's no way you can give up mouse-turning to (this is gonna make me barf) KEYBOARD TURNING. Even if you have to look at your keyboard for a split second to find where the Y key is or something, it's a lot faster than moving the mouse down to click the button.

If you are using the standard blizzard UI, you need to put your main attacks in the bottom action bar, the one with the dragons in it at are labeled 1-=. Then you need to set up your keybindings on those actions. Then stealth, and put your attacks into the same slots. This way, you put Cheap Shot in slot 1. You keybind it to button 4. Then you stealth and put Hemo in slot 1, which is already bound to button 4.

With Bongos2 you do the same thing in action bar one, but your stealth attacks will reference another bar, probably 8 since thats what mine did. I just went into the action bar 1 info screen, hit stances and told it to reference bar 10 when I stealth, and then hid bar 10 from my UI. Then you will only ever see your stealth attacks when you are stealthed and vice versa.

Extra mouse buttons if you have them, scroll wheel, then SHIFT modifiers for all those keys.

This people... is the way to go, nothing else. I'm using exact the same buttons to keybind with. it rocks.

Well i thought a Spriest partner would be imba , but he is a clicker and he sucks really bad, doesnt know his class etc. (im deciding to dump him)

you can play as a clicker but you can never master being a rogue.

You would have been better off with a ret pally. Spriests were among the worst arena specs pre-2.3, and got worse post-2.3.

Ok, ive followed the advice in the keyboard turning wiki about unbinding my left and right keys.. at first i sucked (literally), then once i got used to it IT OWNS keyboard turning, all those times after using WoTF or Trinket to take 3-4 secs to turn back around and then run all the way back.. now i just do an instant 180 and im back in the action..

have to recommended mouse turning to everyone =)

Cheers

Thomas, I think I changed about the same time.

When you don't PvP much its easy to be a clicker. I came from console gaming and I don't play FPS so the WASD way of the world (of Warcraft) was not engrained in me from the start. You can get away with clicking in PvE, but its a death sentance in PvP.

I admit I was a clicker in 95% of the BGs I did, until I found keybinding a lot easier then just clicking. I made it to 70 before I changed to binds. At its so much easier.
12400 BG kills with clicking lol
I know. I'm a newby.

Yeah turning with the mouse and binding keys works great for a rogue, but what if you have a healer alt that requires clicking for raids? I tried going from clicking to turning with my mouse and binding my keys on my rogue but now when i go to my healer his keys are all ****** up. On a healer i use grid so i click on the people that are loosing health and heal them by pressing keys.

You have to be creative with a healer as far as UI goes. Proximo can help, but if you have a standard keyboard and a mouse with at least 5 buttons, you should have all you need. Most healers are relegated to a few standard heals for certain situations: small, medium, and large. You can create macros that will have different functions if you hold down shift, etc, so the options are unlimited.

Once I broke out of the clicking mentality in pvp, my effectiveness went waaaay up.
