effective leveling build besides combat?Follow

I'm 63 lvl now. I have a 2.8 mace in main hand and 1.6 dagger in off-hand. Both from naxx, about 65dps.

Now I'm leveling with combat build (some points into assa, subt - 0), but grinding with it for 63 levels got me really bored, and it doesn't do very good in pvp. I was wondering if there are any others effective grinding/leveling builds?
Thanks

At your level, mutilate is pretty quick levelling. Other than that everything sucks.

So the fight against mobs with mutilate would be like this?
Ambush, gouge, mutilate, kidney shot, mutilate, evi?
or something different?

Try Cheap Shot, Mutilate, Kidney Shot, Mutilate (x2 if possible), Evis. The longer they're stunned, the more time you can stay behind them and not get hit. If that doesn't kill them, you can Gouge and Mutilate again.

Honestly for leveling any spec will work fine. This game isn't all that hard, you can level just fine whether you're comabt, assassination, or subtlety.

Pick the spec you enjoy the most.

Oh, I see I have someone rating me down for telling people to have fun again. Irks them so bad that they have no response they just have to hit that red arrow.

Sort of Thread Hi-jack.
What about for a lvl 51?
I'm gettin a bit tired of Combat Swords, is there any other real choice for me atm, or should I just tough it out until outlands?

i was mutilate from 50-70 and it was the most fun ive ever had on my rogue period.

I immediately went combat at 70 to raid and PvP. I tried shs daggers while leveling and hated it. mut is by far my favorite rogue build and it levels great. pretty much every mob died within a CS+KS.

This pretty much sums up leveling with Muti. The only drawbacks to Mutilate builds is the dependency on kidneyshot. If it misses, it is incredibly irritating. You have no real ability to take on more than one opponent at a time (lack of blade flurry). It also sucks vs most elites, especially mini-bosses immune to poisons / incapacitates+stuns. Whereas in those situations, combat can easily kill most elites with the help of evasion, riposte & AR.

As for single target dps though Muti is excellent for grinding. Most mobs wont survive for long enough to even hit you more than once or twice. So there is very little down time. It is also one of the very few times you will use remorseless attacks for grinding. The extra crit boost will allow you to CS>Muti>5cp Kidney shot most of the time without having to spec into Sub for Initiative. The 20 second timer also encourages you to find your next mob quick so that you don't waste the buff, which again will speed up grinding.

QFT. I specced Mutilate for a few levels (~55-59 iirc), and it's a very FUN spec to play having leveled Combat from 35-55. But in terms of solo play, I found that I didn't have nearly the killing power that I did with Combat, and I missed it.

Respecced to Combat, though I'm considering going Mut again if I can get my hands on some (really) good Daggers.

Thanks for everyone's opinions.
Another question. Should switch my weps and keep that slow mace in off-hand for more mutilate damage?

Mutilate requires daggers in mainhand anf offhand. Find yourself the 2 slowest daggers you can for your level and go to town.
