Woo for more noob questions!Follow

Oh yes... it's one of THOSE types of posts (and before any flaming occurs, a nice link to threads is a nice thing... I've searched high and low for something to answer my question... oh the insanity)

So I've been thinking. I'm waiting to upgrade my swords first before actually trying to get better gear than what I have.

I have taken into consideration of getting Latros, or running BGs/Arenas to get those weapons. Anyone happen to have the link to s1 weapons (as I've never really run BGs and Arenas too much I'm too stupid to know what they are lol)

I did do a search over there <----- on swords and found these ones for a possible upgrade. Do you think they might work? At least for a bit until I could find something better?

Vengeful Gladiator's Slicer

Vengeful Gladiator's Quickblade

I'm sorry for all the noobness. But I'm working on it all, and I've definitely have taken all of the responses and help to mind and am working towards that direction. I've already tried getting gear that gives me the +AP, +hit, +crit, etc.

Thanks to all of you again for all the help you've given me. I can definitely tell that I've gotten better already.

Vengeful gear is S3, so unless you have a rating of 1850+, you won't be getting those, and since you just hit 70, this is even more unlikely.

Here are the S1 swords: MH and OH. They're fairly easy to obtain given their quality. I'd highly recommend grinding BGs for these while doing arenas to save points for the S2 swords. Even if you lose 10 times a week, you're still getting points.

Okay cool. Thanks! Yeah, I just spoke with this one girl I had met when doing Seth Halls and she's willing to join me in a 2v2 arena, as I've never done one before. So I told her that she'll have to show me the ropes lol. I'm sure I'll do fine though. I'm awesome at listening to directions =P

I'll definitely be running more BGs too, I think I've now gotten over 2k honor so far with the very little running I do.

For you, I will have to suggest that you replace that PITIFUL off hand first. although the MH is horrible too.

Oh, and just so you know go to Old Town in SW, in the building to the Right of SI-7 is where you will find all the Battleground PvP gear vendors including the one for the S1 gear. Go check it out and take a look around.

I actually managed to do that last night for the few minutes I was on. I wanted to see how much honor I'd need for the swords... I think it was somewhere over 10k if I remember right. I'll have to check again, but right now I'm only sitting at about 2-3k.

9k Offhand and 18k Mainhand I think.

Yeah that sounds about right. So once I get 9k, would it make you happy if I replace one of my weapons right away? lol

If you did I would only cry myself to sleep 6 nights a week instead of the usual 7.

Not 3-4 nights? Okay fine... I'll work on that and get the OH, until I'm able to save up more honor for the MH.

Yes it is 9k honor for the offhand and 18k honor for the mainhand. Each sword will also require 20 EotS tokens, which should be the least of your worries.

Weapons make all the difference for a rogue.

Theoretically you could go around naked at 70 and finish up all of the solo quests you didn't do while levelling as long as you had good weapons.

Try and get a full set the best PVP or PVE gear and go around dual-wielding Gladius (level 5 1h sword, no stats) and see how fun that would be.

Soloing hasn't been a problem for me (minus the few elite quests) but yeah. I'm going to go and try to work on those as much as I can first before trying to gear myself even more. It's going to take some time though as I've only got so much time

Just out of curiosity but your siggy...about Demoralizing Shout...Does opening your character page and looking at your gear apply the same debuff? :D

Yes. Yes it does.

(got it off one of the thoughts for the day... I enjoyed it)

I noticed you still haven't upgraded your Chestpiece yet. If you compare the stats on what you have: Chestguard of the Talon with the Warden's Hauberk you can see that despite being a lvl 62 blue it is actually a lot better. I think you lose about 31 ap, but if you socket it with Glinting Flame Sessparite(+3hit, +3 Agi) you gain about 13 hit & 9 agility (making the overall loss of AP go down to 22).

Personally I actually prefer the Warden's Hauberk over Tunic of Assassination because the tunic has lower stats, a blue socket, and a +4dodge socketing bonus (whereas the Hauberk has +4hit socket bonus). The AP gain isn't even that much...

Just my 2 Cents anyway...

Are the S2 swords that much better than the S1? I'm wondering because I have the S1 maces and thrown and was thinking about going for the S3 helm, then gloves (for silencing DT) as my first and second items.

Yeah I'm still working on upgrading all my gear. Working on my weapons right now, then I'm going to start running stuff to get better armor. Like I said, I only have so much time so it's going to take some time for me to get "decked" out lol. But I'm getting there. Slowly, but I'm getting there.

Primalstrike chest is also amazing, though it is expensive as hell.

Thats why I suggested the Warden's Hauberk... its a rep item you buy from the vendor in Zangramarsh. You only need Honored, which you have. So its an easy upgrade that requires nothing more than a trip to Cenarion Refuge Point.

I don't know if it's different for Horde, but for Alliance you need EotS marks for the swords. That's a good thing, as it's usually a pretty quick BG, win or lose.

I'll have to go and check it out.

As for the marks, yeah I have quite a few saved up from all the BGs, it's just a matter of actually getting enough honor to get the swords now. I should be at about 3500 hp now... only 24k more to go (for both swords)

And Nocthil, I finally socketed my stuff... they really didn't have anything great on the AH, so I just picked stuff that would have been beneficial to me (most of it was for mana users). And yes, those were the cheapest ones I could find.... for now.

You're right Zha. It is EotS for horde as well. What with the holidays and getting married and being away from the game for a while I forgot what I paid for my swords.

Which swords are we talking about now?
