ok i was just wondering what the difference was between the bear mitigation and bear high-gear mitigation lists on Emmerald's loot lists.

the link is in the druid 101 so i checked it out, but i was confused because those 2 lists looked almost the same

I beleive, although I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but the bear list is more about STA as the primary stat, High-Mitigation is about Armor as the primary.

If you check the lists, they are approximately the same, but the order for some of the items changes. Higher STA gets more points on bear list, and AGI and Armor gets more on high-mit.

The bear high gear list assumes you are already crit immune, so +defence and resillience are valued much low than on the other list

You should read what is written right there:
Quote:

- The lists assume that you have most of the key DPS or tanking talents. Blessing of Kings is assumed only on high-gear lists.

- The high-gear mitigation list assumes that you are crit immune. There are also other caps (either hard or soft) that affect gear selection. You have to take those into account.

High-gear also attempts to maintain 19k health and 30k armor thresholds. It's mostly there to help with the effectiveness of sidegrades that occur often at the T5+ level.

I was also in the dark on this for a long time, but take a look at the
"Info" tab for each list, it's for the far left where you kinda choose
slot, and the assumptions used for each list is given.

That should hope fully clear things up a bit like it did for me.

Basically the "normal" list assumes you are crap geared and not crit immune
(which was the first thing I made sure I was upon tanking something anyway),
and the high-gear list assumes you are pretty much capped on stamina and armor
and crit immune.

On the subject of emmeralds... anyone know if it is ever going to be updated? It is beginning to be quite outdated.

I know that you *could* use armory, but armory doesnt include +armor, +hit and +expose in its calculations.

Such as?

EDIT: Seriously, Emmerald would love to know if an item isn't showing up on the list. He has a thread on his forum dedicated to it. If you know of one please let me know so I can pass it on.

Yeah definitely, there have been heaps of us going through the list looking for ommissions and posting them on Emmerald's forums

You are right and I am withdrawing my statement.

I remember looking for a certain piece of armor that I could not find,
but I have gone through the loots comparing them to Emmerald's and I can't
find it, maybe it was updated after I looked the first time.

Only thing I can find now is the Cloak of Fiends, and I see it has already
been posted in the thread you mentioned (I frequently browse the Emmerald
forum and I can't believe I missed or never even thought about that thread...)

nvm then :D
