Wowa..I'm Mana Efficent?Follow

So a long time ago I had a 61 shaman. I deleted the character, halted the account, and quit the game. This was about two days after BC was released, so yes I'm stupid.

Anywhom, I now have a 70 mage, a level 37 druid, and now a 21 shaman. I'm shocked to see how mana efficent I am. Shamans pre BC were crappy since we weren't mana efficent. Now with that Shamanistic focus, I crit, I shock, the mob dies in like 3-4 hits, and I move on. I'm loving my shaman, and I wish that I'd never deleted my 61 shaman. All things aside though, it looks as though shamans have come a long way.

Any serious changes I should know about that I haven't gathered from the sticky/first few posts. All I've gathered is that PvP has changed, and although we're good, we don't hold our own as much as we used too. I've also gathered that enhancement shamans (while not as viable as a resto shaman) can raid. Is this true?

Thanks for your replies in advance.

Water shield gives 50 mana/5 sec, returns mana for remaining charges upon expiry of 10 mins. I remember Shamans learn water shield at level 62?

Also take a look at the Lightning overload talent in the Elemental tree.

That is all.

Yeah, Enhance can raid; put em in a melee group and see your raid's DPS skyrocket. And if you think you're mana efficient now, just you wait until Shamanistic Rage (41 point talent in Enhance tree). It's pretty sexy imo, and it was just recently buffed.

BTW, don't read the "Shaman FAQ", just read the "Comprehensive Shaman w/e w/e w/e 2.3" by Paracleets, it's pretty sweet. And also read my comments, they're all incredible insights into the ways of the Shaman.

Oh yeah! Between Shamanistic Rage and Water Shield, I almost never have to drink. About the only time that I do is when I'm eating to get the well fed buff. I hardly even use mana spring totem. If I'm in a situation where I know I will need to plop down totems because I know I'll be fighting a lot of mobs in an area, I'll plop down healing stream totem. It used to be pretty standard to drop a mana spring totem in those situations. About the only time I do use mana spring is when I'm healing/off-healing in an instance. It rocks being a shaman!

you do know you can get characters un-deleted right? my buddy got his gnome warrior remade after a year of it being deleted, mind you he lost all the gear he had but other than that it was problem solved.

and yeah shammies with that last patch all of a sudden no longer needed mana pots
