no, it's not possible. honestly though you should really try to become at least somewhat proficient with keybinds. it's hard at first, but you can press 5 keys in the time it takes you to click 2 buttons.

From what I've heard the marks were originally only possible with an addon but Bliz liked the idea and added them to the game for everyone to use.

I personally would like to find an addon with numbers instead of icons. So while in a group I can say "Kill order: 1, 2, 3, 4...." instead of "Kill order: Skull, X, square, star, moon.."

I suggest keybinding also.

Since I'm a keyboard turner, I set my marks as such:
Key bound---> Mark
[End]= Skull
[Delete] = Star
[Page Down] = Moon
[Insert] = Box

I can mark up a full group in 1-2 seconds Smiley: smile

I also do that on my Hunter
[End]= Arc shot
[delete] = Concus shot
etc

I can jump in mid-air, shoot, and land still kiting the player on BGs, thanks to the keybindings.

To open the menu, press [Esc] key, then select keybindings, then scroll down until you see the star, moon, skull, etc. Then just click on the 'not bound'? red button, it'll say press key you want it bound to, then make sure you click ok (or it won't save).

couple of ways for you to have an easier access to raid icons...

the easiest one is to get a UI called lucky charms...
here's a page off curse.com where you can find some raid mark UI's
http://search.curse.com/?q=lucky+charms&x=0&y=0

basically, UI's is user interface that somewhat makes gaming easier and customizable.

tad bit more complicated is to get a Bar UI such as bartender 3 and so you can create and add more action bars in addition to the standard blizz bars.

then you can create macros that will mark a target and at same time, informs party what the designated mark means...

Sap (Rogue)
/p SAP <STAR>
/script SetRaidTarget("Target", 1);

Polymorph (Mage)
/p MORPH <CIRCLE>
/script SetRaidTarget("Target", 2);

Shackle (Priest: Undead)
/p SHACKLE <DIAMOND>
/script SetRaidTarget("Target", 3);

are some examples.

So what do you use, then? Do you click everything?

I use a Nostromo N52 game pad and keybind/macro to that. The only thing I use the keyboard for is typing in game really.

For me, I found the numpad easiest way to set raid targets. Since I use the numpad for work all day, I can quickly hit w/e raid icon I need any time.

Ah, ok. I've used those before. They're neat, though not my thing. I could never get used to it.

I think there should be a mod where you can click a button and there would be one of those AoE markers... Just click that in the area of the mob and all of them have a designated Lucky Charm over their head.

AND! You can set specials ones in the Settings to go over certain mobs, like:

- Green triangles can only go over the beasts, humanoids, and critters for the sheeping

- The skull goes over any random target aside from the triangle... this would be the first mob to kill

- Red X is the second mob to kill/Have this one Sapped

And in the group chat box, there would be a list that describes each one.

Not only does clicking one AoE marker each time save time, the list will save typing time too! That way, you don't have to tediously click each mob every time.

Except CC isn't just used because you need less mobs hitting, it's also used to often take specific mobs out of the equation. Take for example, just in early 70 content, the sirens in SV. At least one of them is normally CCd to take take their AoE fear, which has a VERY quick cast time, out of the equation. This side of CC becomes even MORE important inside of heroics. This sort of randomly targeted marking system wouldn't really work for that reason.

+1

i love to have the peskiest mobs or casters sheeped, as its the most effective/most easily renewable cc available. mobs that fear? sheep em. casters? baa.

i try to have ice trap up for melees, but since hunters and their pets are more durable than succys, i tend to rank ice trap as my #2 most effective cc.

seduce i am iffy about, since some locks are very good and re-seduce their marks right away, where some are lazier and sometimes get their succys one or two-shotted. it's still very good though, and i rank it #3. however, if there are mobs to be banished or shackled, those two forms of cc > seduce.

sap is the weakest and worst form of cc, simply because it is only applicable to humanoids, and when sapped mobs wake up, they can run right through a pat and aggro it. if i am tanking two mobs and and the first mob dies, i try to get the sapped mob on me right away to avoid aggroing pats... this works pretty well since i have already built up some threat on the X mob, and dps can get to work right away.
