hello i recently got to outlands im lvl 62 atm when i got there at 58 i respecd to prot from fury cuz i assumed id be doing alot of instances but iv only done a few and i think i prefer questing as opposed to depending on idiots. i was wondering if i should respec back to arms/fury or stay with prot, wich would you reccomend?

also if u reccomend arms/fury could u link a good 2h build for my lvl? thx

I've been prot since getting to Outlands (currently level 68) and have been fine with questing. I dual-wield when questing and sword and board when tanking. Being prot means it takes a little longer to kill mobs, but it's not too bad. Devastate is terrific and is the only reason that prot is do-able as a questing/grinding build.

Good luck!

WTB Proper grammar.

Personally, I went fury when I started getting some nice +Hit gear from quests, and it worked well tanking. For non-70 instances (and some 70 instances) you don't need to be prot to tank them effectively, even in PUGS. So if I were you, I would respec fury.

You don't need prot for tanking 5 mans by a long shot. That is, if you know what you're doing.

Go arms or fury, they'll take you to 70 faster, and that is what the milestone is.

I think the FAQ post has a Fury/Prot Hybrid spec that I changed over to at 65. I think it has 15 points of Prot while still keeping the DPS from Fury for questing. It worked well for me up to 70.

Fury is definitely a good build for leveling in Outlands. I was Arms/Fury from 60-65 and then went Fury/Arms and tore through the last 5 levels in about 2.5 weeks (casual play). Even was able to tank up to Steamvaults with the Fury/Arms build (although not as well as a Prot build). Prot is ok, and can be done, just a bit longer. Although you'll have a higher survivability rate. Fury will just tear through mobs faster and make the grind shorter.

And most are right, for Outland 5-man content, you really don't require a full Prot build to tank. Like I mentioned, I was able to tank up to Steamvaults without much trouble with a Fury/Arms build.
