Enchancement Shaman in arenaFollow

#1 Jan 28 2008 at 12:49 PM Rating: Decent
Recently started a arena team with a Enchancement shaman, Now the problem is he die real fast. And since i don't know anything about shamans, I would like some tips about how he could improve.
Armory; http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kilrogg&n=Cebero
He is more of the type: Run in and hit as hard as i can.

How much resilience does he have ?

Because without at least 200 resilience everything dies REAL fast in Arena.

After all, Enh Shammys are a bit screwed in Arena because they highly depend on crits, and crits are highly reduced by resilience.

So, if he is a pure PvP-Player he should switch to Elemental. Or even better, make im a healer.

Cause therer are only very very few 2 dps teams which can stand in higher ratings. Rest is usually a healer in it.

He needs to grind Honor for more PvP gear. 99 Resilience is not nearly enough for a Paladin with a Shield, much less an Enhancement Shaman. He's going to get nearly insta-gibbed, since Shaman are almost always the first target and Enhancement Shaman even more so... and he's made of wet tissue paper.

Enhancement Shaman can do okay, especially in 3v3 with another physical DPS class and a Paladin (BoFreedom). But they really need enough gear so they can survive. You can run off Shamanistic Rage's damage reduction somewhat, but he's going to be Target #1 99% of the time so you need to anticipate that.

QFT. Enhancement Shaman have zero mitigation beyond their base armor and resilliance, so he really should be wearing full Gladiator gear with Vindicator fixin's before he can expect to see any kind of survivability.

BTW, until Shamanistic Rage gets dispell resistance you are far, far better of with Nature's Swiftness.

Wish I remembered the name of the guy to link it, but I've seen an armory profile of an enhance shaman that was in the top 4 arena teams on his server. Ofc, he was kitted out in all the best gladiator gear and probably has some REALLY good team mates backing him up.

I saw another profile for another Enh Shaman that was in the top 10 on his server too... so it is possible... but not likely very easy.

A match like that for an Enh Shammy probably consists of "Heroism, Shamanistic Rage, WF totem, Tremor Totem, Grounding totem, ES healer, attack healer, Nova totem, Stormstrike, pray for WF procs."

...and I've never even participated in an Arena match (I'm just a BG fool), so I'm mostly talkin' out of my *** here.

An Enhancement Shaman kind of plays out like a less mobile, less survivable, and less damaging (due to the MS debuff nerfing heals) Warrior. Rogues often complain that there's no reason to bring them instead of a Warrior, but for Enhancement Shaman that really is very much the case.

An Enhancement Shaman really needs two things to be effective. First, a teammate to control kiters so that the Enhancement Shaman can actually get into range to deliver its damage. Second, a healer that can keep it from getting controlled and out-right killed through focused fire.

Paladins and Priests both make good healers for Enhancement Shaman, and Frost Mages and Rogues both make good DPS partners.
