1s/5r cycles - How?Follow

So I haven't been raiding (Kara) with my Rogue in ages because of a number of factors both RL and in game, neither of which I'll bore you with. I've never had any of the tier 4 set, however, I finally managed to pick up my tier 4 helm over the weekend. Now I'm going to focus on picking up the gloves so I can get the sweet tier 4 bonus, and hopefully allow myself to change up my combat cycle a bit.

My question is how do you actually pull off a 1s/5r combat cycle? My raiding assumption is that rogues should use the minimum number of CPs to make sure that SnD is up at all times. To this point I've pretty much had to rely on a 3s/5r cycle. Now, with the tier 4 set bonus, I can see this going to a 2s/5r, but no way a 1s/5r cycle. SnD will simply be down for some period of time before I can refresh it.

From what I can tell, there's really only 1 variable that affects energy return as a combat spec: Hit rating. My hit rating is currently at 230, which I'll admit is a little low, but not terrible for Kara gear. I'm sure with a higher rating I'd be getting more energy back from Combat Potency, but do you simply need an insanely high hit rating to pull this cycle off, or are people who use this cycle simply willing to accept some SnD downtime to get your finisher up faster?

Thanks in advance,
Camel

The T4 2 piece bonus essentially adds one point to your SnD. So, your two pointer becomes three, which is an easy leap to a 2s/5r cycle. You can jump all the way down to a 1s/5r, because you're no longer spending the extra 40 energy for that CP, and it cuts another 4 seconds off your cycle. Also, a couple of seconds every few cycles without SnD isn't the end of the world, should it come to that. Many rogues who don't have the 2 piece bonus any more prefer the 2s/5r cycle. You have some time without SnD, but Rupture stays up more of the time, which offsets the loss of a swing every now and then.
