Hi, im wondering if i should have a dagger in the main hand and a sword in the off hand, or dual daggers. I just got a new dagger thats better than my others, and Im wondering if i should use it to replace my old dagger or my old sword...I'd personally like to replace the sword, but any suggestions?

Ignore him. He's shallow and thinks having a blue name gives you a license to insult people he'll never meet face-to-face.

You obviously need a dagger for backstab/ambush etc. However, if you'd read the FAQ, you would have picked up that the general consensus is that combat/swords is the best spec for leveling and end-game PvE and that leveling combat/daggers is as enjoyable as ************ with steel wool. Pure Assassination is not popular for leveling. I think it's more of a supplementary tree when you're in that level bracket. Subtlety for PvE is basically like castrating yourself.

But really. Read the FAQs, they're well written by people who know what they're talking about. I'm not always one of those people, so anything I say is suspect, but the best advice to give is: read the FAQ.

To be honest, there's nothing wrong with insulting said people if they make the effort to L2APOSTROPHE (apostrophize?) and to have a quick peek into stickies to check if the question has been asked 7009.34 times before, or is an actual, original question that takes effort to answer and work out for yourself, like "Is Shiv a viable replacement for X in X circumstances." and such.

Yes, if the dagger is a better weapon in your current circumstances, if your talent spec fits it and your other gear is set up to help out with using it, and your playstyle suits it, wield it. Whether or not your opinion of "better" is correct, I have no idea, and frankly don't care, since your keyboard seems to lack Shift and the Apostrophe key.

Also, gz to ElementHuman on getting yourself a cute little baby stalker. Can I pat him?

I mean, maybe he isnt that good at english, ( or maybe he is jsut lazy, which is okay, because what he wrote is VERY EASY READING)
Come on... no reason to just go #¤%* on eachother....

and my keyboard IS missing the sHIFT and Apostrophe keys.

Personally I am all for Sword/Sword or Dagger/Dagger. I don't think they make a great mix because of the difference in speeds.

ElementHuman,ecirpchsoj

No doubt I aggree with NecareXX on this. ElementHuman, ecirpchsoj - You guys need to pull your heads out of your asses and realise that this site isn't restricted to people who can speak and type english flawlessly.

Stop tutoring people like it's school. I can only wonder how you made scholar in the first place. We're here to help people with WoW, not flame them for missing an apostrophe.

What's worse: Kamikun missing an apostrophe or you derailing the thread?

@ Kamikun:

Would you mind telling us what lvl you are, what spec you are, and what your 3 potential weapons are?

If supplied with all that info, I'm sure that we could provide you with concrete answers.

That being said, if you are just looking for a general reply I would take a look at the FAQ. More often than not it will have the answers to your questions.

i have to agree with necare first of all - jerks aren't helpful anywhere in life, including forums.

unless i'm required to level as combat swords because forum posters say i have to, i use daggers because i enjoy it. the original question is one i've wondered myself. read it carefully; he's not asking about dagger vs. sword in the main hand.

so assuming the OP has already decided to go with a dagger in the main hand, is a dagger or sword better for the off-hand? the trade off is a little more white damage from the sword or more poison procs from the dagger; it's not something i've seen in stickies or guides.

Nvm, i got my decision, Now i have Sentinel's Blade (48) in main hand and Satyr's Lash in off hand. Before, Satyr's lash wasnt an option, but when i ran Mara last night, i got it. Thx everyone!
