Hey, I'm new to my mage toon, currently level 46. I have been doing allot of BG lately and I think I've been noticing something. Ice Barrier isn't absorbing a hunter's arcane shot. I say I think because things happen so fast it's hard to tell sometimes what is causing my damage, but I’m almost positive it’s arcane shot.
I looked on WoWiki's description of Ice Barrier and it doesn't say anything about it not absorbing arcane damage. Am I imagining this? If I'm not, what other types of damage are not absorbed by Ice Barrier? Thanks for the help.

Are you sure that they are not hitting you with an auto shot first then an arcane shot right after it. If timed right a hunter to shoot both at the same time since Arcane Shot is an instant shot.
Just a suggestion, but the arcane shot could be hitting immediatley following an normal shot and thus the ice barrier breaking and you receiving damage.

arcane shot now removes buffs, that is my guess.
Arcane shot dispels and *then* does damage.
Unless they spec for it, in which case it spellsteals and *then* does damage.

Arcane Shot cannot spellsteal, as far as I've read.
Anobix and Isfreak were right, Arcane Shot is dispelling your Ice Barrer and then damaging you.
Thanks for the reply, now I have another reason to avoid hunters 1 on 1.
