Just got the trial subscription and leveled my Human Paladin to level 6. But I've been wondering how can I use a sword? I've looted a ******* Sword, seen swords for sale by merchants, but I keep getting the message I can use the darn things.
I'm still stuck with the Hammer I started the game with.
How can I use a sword?

You need to train to use swords. It costs about 10 silver, and can be done in Stormwind or the Exodar if you're alliance, or Silvermoon City or Undercity if you're horde.

The weapons shop opposite the Auction House in Stormwind. There's an Oriental man lacking a shirt, he'll train you.
Note that 1handed and 2handed swords are separate training thingies.

Thanks. I found the oriental guy, Woo Poo, something like that and trained up.
also, just in case you don't know, you can talk to the guards in a major city and ask for directions to certain places. They will tell you where to go as well as place a dot on your map.
