Much like PMS, the drama will clear up in a week. It always does.

/sigh.

Must I explain everything to you people? It's "Whatevah, I'll do what I want!" when said by Cartman. The most common usage of "***** you" by Cartman is followed by "guys, I'm going home". Though "***** you" can often be followed by the name Kyle, though he instead tends to say ********** you, Kyle. Shut your goddamned Jew mouth." instead.

I have no idea how I messed that one up. I was writing it as class was ending, but that's the best explanation I can give.

Just don't let it happen again. I wouldn't want to have to make you eat your parents.

If you switch Kyle with Mia, that's pretty much the OOT right there. Smiley: lol

It comes from guilds. "Lawl RET" comes from guilds. I've been an officer in several guilds and recruited players, we pass up RET pallies or we tell them "respec"... So people will ask "Why?" Simple. While in the Healing department, Shammies, Druids, Priests and Pallies ALL have their strengths, RET Pallies have NOTHING that makes them appealing to fill a DPS slot.

We have a pick of Hunters, Mages, Rogues (all have CC as well)or Locks... even Warriors... Shamans can be usefull as well... But a RET Pally doesn't bring anything to DPS... as a guild (where everyone wants to succeed) we need members who understand the limits of what they are playing. We are willing to take pallies, but RET pallies do NOT rock. The difference between a Prot and Ret pally is simple. PROT Pallies for a while were considered "weak" but they proved they were a legit build.

RET Pallies can't prove it... because as long as there is something to compare them to, they will NEVER be considered a serious build...

Do they deserve advice? Yes, they deserve all the advice they need. But don't mislead them. All they need is a line like "... and dont listen to anyone here, RET pallies can DPS!!"... then a new player playing ret will think "What the? I thought I was going to rock!" and that's just a lie... simple as that.

NOTE: While recruiting, we never told palyers "lawl ret" but we told them what we needed. It's what EVERY guild needs. Healers and Tanks... DPS slots could be filled in a second.

I cant tell you how many times I've tried to get into an instance in the 65-70 range and experienced: "what spec are you? ret? o..." /disband. but when i DO get in a group, i prove them wrong, coming up to 1 or 2 on the damage meter.

Totally agree cap! great post

To be fair, I've healed instances where tanks were number one on the damage meter. It really doesn't prove anything.

also consider the other factors: +/- utility, +/- dmg taken, +/- healing taken, +/- healing done, and how dmg is dealt. quantify everything and realize why Ret pallies are not always fun to take along, however sometimes they actually can smooth out a run.

It proves that you need better DPS? Smiley: dubious

Was it a druid pre-2.1 Pol? You have to remember they nerfed the crap out of them then.

Shattered Halls with non aoe dps classes is great example. Not many single target dps'rs, your warriors, shamans, ret pallies, feral druids or rogues can keep up with Tankadin dps there.

Pold's right it doesnt mean a thing in some instances. You cant always get the right classes together and sometimes your willing to compromise with lesser 'loved' dps classes.

Its just like pally tanking. You can tank everything (or just about) but sometimes its more trouble than its worth. Other times its a godsend. Its just ret doesnt really seem to have an area that it can say it specialises in, which at the end of the day is what it needs. That and better gear itemization.

No, a warrior. I remember the hax DPS of druids. There was one druid I regularly ran with(encountered him in a PuG) who I was often the only one in the group outDPS'ing him when he tanked, and I was having to fight for it(fresh to 70).

That was the last PuG I ran. And that's exactly what I was trying to say in relation to a ret paladin outDPSing other folks. The whole story isn't there. The other DPS could just suck.
