Macro HelpFollow

I've been reading around to avoid asking this but every macro I found, seems to give me another problem. I cant seem to get the basic BM macro down. Can someone explain why it's not workin? This is what I'm using:

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, !Auto Shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show()

the button is greyed out and i honestly don't know dip about writing macros.

I've gone through the post:
Changes with auto shot? (not "how do i fix my macro?!?")

and tried all the numerous macros listed there and still nothing. I've copied and pasted it exactly and can't get it to work. If you don't want to answer it again because i know this subject has been beaten to the ground, send me a link to the topic with the answer? I remember 2 years ago reading a very detailed topic about macros and started writing me own but now am lost. please. help me l2p

I'm away from my home machine and can't check my macros file, but that looks like it should work just fine. Silly questions, just to eliminate any possible other issues: Are you in range of your target when the button is gray? Do you have arrows loaded onto your character portrait?

Assuming all of those questions are answered 'yes', then try this:

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill Command
/cast !Auto Shot, Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

This should do the same thing as the macro you posted.
