As my Holy Pally aproaches lvl 60, I was wondering where to get the best armor for him. Do I spend the time in BG or gorun instances?
If you're not planning on sticking at 60 (and even if you are), you should just do a few quests/dungeons in outland, the armor there exceeds level 60 BG rewards by quite a lot.

Even higher then the epic gear in BGS??
Get TBC lvl 58 greens, they are better than any lvl 60 epic you can get.

It's not worth spending hours upon hours grinding rep for items that you are going to replace rather quickly, especially since you could probably be 70 in the time it takes you to get a full set of BG armor.

Are BG Honor points and marks even worth getting even for lvl 70 gear? or is BG a total waste of time?
Since you can now get Season 1 Arena gear with Honor, yes BGs are worth doing. If you want to PvP that is. If you're going to do all/most PvE then no I wouldn't grind heavily at any bracket for Honor. PvE gear will suit you better, though some PvP gear will be fine to fill in any gaps you may have.
***** bg's ***** farming do your outland quest and for all else use the ah till higher lvl i'm 64 prot pally still doing that with 444 deff 7.5k hp if not higher and over 50% damage reduction. and seing your healer you can get better stats for you build with lower grade gear ie cloth leather and mail.
